Are chairs/benches able to sit in V?

From SA to IV, I always thinking why CJ/Niko can swim, but cannot sit on chair or bench.

How about V?

i like the idea; you could do this to a large extent in LA Noire, so it's not unreasonable to think maybe you can in GTA V

 

i'd love to just sit on a bench someplace with a nice view and watch the sun rise or set, or watch traffic go by in the living city.. enjoy the gameworld for all the work R* put into it.

I like the idea of objects being interactive and usefull, but to be hornest, i don't think it's going to be that good without first person view.

 

i would love to relax, take a break and sit down at a bench in a park, watching NPC's passing by. But without first person view, i doubt it would be great.

 

Imagine riding the bus/airplane in GTA5 and using first person view. That would be awsome!

I hope we can just sit and relax and look around. Little things like that makes the game world more lively imo.

Yeah, sure. Maybe we should get first person view when we sit down or use public transportation, instead of waiting a couple of minutes without moving.

 

I guess we just have to wait and see for ourselves when the game comes out

I dont want first person here, but i want to sit on a bench etc. This is LS, GTA V and it looks beautiful, I want to thus sit down and take it in. I often eat dinner with the game on pause - here I could sit and watch the sunset while I eat.

I think first person view gives you a better... view And that's what it's all about. I don't think it would work out in-game playing on a mission, or moving around in free-roam, but when you sit down, not moving around, then i think it would be nice

I think it would be a good feature to have. just like in IV you could pick up random objects for no reason.... going into the russian clothes shop and throwing cups at the staff was fun though!

Wouldn't work on wooden benches or like, Café chairs, they are movable and/or breakable.

No, chairs and benches are not able to sit in V. The protagonist can't sit on any chairs either, this isn't "Grandma's Rocking Chair Simulator".

I can imagine a mission where you have to sit down somewhere to start a cut scene or whatever. Could also have quicker regaining health while sitting... though I don't see it would be used like that...

You have cops after you on foot shooting and you get hit... who would stop and sit on a bench to regain faster health while the cops approaching faster? Stamina would have made more sense, but I can't see anybody using it in that way either.

 

If there exist an "office chair" (don't know what else to call it ) with wheels on, it could be a lot of fun rolling down a long road while shooting?

What i think R* need to do is introduce first person as an optional camera mode - in IV for example we had three - close up torso, far away and medium. In V there would then be a fourth - first person. Would apply to driving too; a cockpit view. That way we get first person AND third person for those who want it.

 

gta_fan28 - those screens are, i suspect one of a few things:

1 - cutscenes

2 - the in game picture editor - it's been suggested we can take photos of our cars - perhaps the protagonist will automatically lean on the car.

3 - or it's idle animation.

We've seen Michael sit on a bench when he meets Franklin, and a person sitting on a bench during gameplay in the gameplay trailer at the 0:28 mark (when Michael enters the store). Michael sitting was problably a cutscene, which means it might just be for cutscenes, and that a NPC is sitting on a bench might just mean that only NPCs can do that. However, they do obvously have the animations and the benches are actually objects that at least the NPCs can interact with. So it certainly is possible and we might have seen some evidence for it, but it is far from certain. It would be a nice detail, but hardly a great new feature.
