GTA V - Weapon Wheel (Red Dead Redemption Style)

Howdy fellow Rockstar fans,

Just wanted to point out a little quick something I had noticed in the GTA V - Gameplay trailer. Without a doubt, I'm sure someone has already spotted this, or even that everyone knows this already, I'm just an idiot...

Anyway! I wanted to point out in the trailer at 3 minutes and 13 seconds, with the presentation of the weapon wheel, there appears to be a numbered selection at the top middle of the wheel; looking such as "< 2 / 2 >". After playing Red Dead Redemption, this is a direct copy of the same weapon selection system. Meaning, that we'll be able to have more than one version of that specific tier of weaponry; such as we'll be able to carry different variations of handguns, assault rifles, sniper rifles, etc. all at the same time in the same inventory. Also meaning, that instead of choosing our weapons of choice, we can just have every weapon in the game at a certain point.

Now, seeing that I hated Red Dead Redemption's gun system (especially in multiplayer which allowed for even worse never-ending, pointless battles with other players, but I won't go into that right now), my opinion is completely and obviosuly biased... So, I wanted to hear your guys' and gals' reaction to this.

Do you think that this is a little too much off of Red Dead Redemption, or do you think it will work and make for better realism?

I'm excited to hear what you guys and gals say, and see you all in Los Santos!

(Note: Like I said, I'm an idiot. I tried posting the trailer down below, but let's be honest, I have no idea what I'm doing. So, my apologies for the inconvenience. Have a good one now!)

RDR had a way better gun system online. Who really thinks wasting their own time finding guns fun? Also you can easier defend yourself when getting spawn killed while in GTA IV you would be DEAD but you were not cause of that annoying invincibility you get when you spawn.

Whereas that is your obligated opinion, you're wrong...

Now, I don't wish to start an argument over a simple forum in the wee hours of the morning, but know this... you're still wrong... I hate you...

Hah, just kidding my friend! But I still disagree with you. Have a good one, and thanks for the reply!

I think the gun wheel from RDR is a smarter system than the linear search that GTA had in place in the past. It allows for quicker, direct access to what you want. They are continuously improving various aspects of the game. They must have felt this was a clear improvement worth breaking what otherwise would have been tradition. Can't wait to try Michael's bullet time too.

I prefer weapon wheel over the classic system.. so yeah it's a good thing. doesn't have to be 100% realistic either, this is gta

I bet John Marston told Rockstar to add the weapon wheel because he liked it so much. Fun Fun fun Fun.

Red Dead Redemption is my favorite console game ever, and my favorite multiplayer, so yeah, I'm pretty stoked about the new weapon wheel. tounge.gif

Yup, RDR's introduction of the weapons wheel was a massive improvement over IV and it's great to see it is again being implemented with V.
