aaronimpact
Stupid idea. RDR had this and it pissed me off. If i wanted my gun out, i'd take it out. If i wanted to put it away, I'd put it away. I hate it when games FORCE you to do things. Actually, it came in handy to holster your weapon quickly in RDR when you played gang matches. You were able to walk a little more quicker without showing your dot on the map by running.

You were able to walk a little more quicker without showing your dot on the map by running. Yes, but you could holster it QUICKER by tapping (iirc) LB! Having the game do it for you is just lazy and pointless. It took about a second to holster your weapon in IV (tapping L/R), and will take literally a millisecond to tap say LB to do so in V. (RDR you would tab the same button that brings up the weapon wheel and you'd holster/unholster your weapon) The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. Macabro
I just hope they dont throw the gun away when you run out of ammo. That's the stupidest sh*t ever.
blakeney
Also i want to just WALK when i have a weapon equiped, i do not want to jog... Thats stupid imo, they better not bring this to V. From what i can gather, the jog is when you are aiming only, not always unless you equip fists/holster your gun.
BUT THE BENZ
It should be like RDR. You can give the weapon wheel button a quick tap to holster your weapon, and press it again to get it back out. It would automatically holster your gun after a while if you stayed out of combat, I think. Pressing the shoot or aim button instantly brought your weapon out, so it wasn't annoying to have your weapon holstered. 100 % this

L1337
If I don't want to be 'hotboy' I simply put my gun down by myself. Off topic here, hotboy? Really?
meson1
I have three things to say about this: WTF?!! Hotboy? HOTBOY? I don't wish to sound homophobic, but if I referred to anyone as a "hotboy", I'd be branded as gay. That term goes totally against my hetro sensibilities. I do not want the game deciding what to do with MY weapons. If I take a weapon out, it's because I want it f***ing out. And when I want to put it away, I'LL decide when I want to put the f***er away. I am not having a game decide that for me. I'M the player. I'M in charge of what I do. The dodgy AI can f*** right off making those sorts of decisions for me. And thirdly... "hotboy". WTF!!! I know this is the same as item 1 of my list, but it's so bad it just HAS to be mentioned twice.
Vice Beach
It actually will be like that I believe, they pretty much confirmed it while discussing the "combat jog" when hostile enemies are nearby your gun will remain out and you will be in combat mode. If nothing is going on your gun will holster itself after a while. This was in Red Dead Redemption's single player. On RDR's multiplayer and Undead Nightmare pack your character will not automatically holster it and it will stay out until you put it away, presumably so you're combat ready at all times.
