Hopefully your gun reverts back to fist for once

I dont know about you guys, but one thing I aim for when playing GTA, is realism. To the extent I can anyway. I try to make it look like REAL gangster sh*t, and as realistically as I can. Where I'm from, we have a little word or phrase called 'hotboy'. When your being hotboy you are attracting attention, whether it be from cops or whoever.

What would really be considered hotboy is walking with the gun out like they have you do at default. They should make a 30 second rule and have your gun revert back to fist icon if you dont use it for 30 seconds. Would make it easier.

You could always just open the weapon wheel and select your fists......

Alert Rockstar, I'm sure they're still taking ridiculous, last-minute requests.

icon14.gif since we have a weapon wheel now and picking what gun or throwable or melee weapons we want easier I have to disagree on that 30 second rule

yea but its so annoying. I hate hopping out of the jeep with Luis and his homies when we're trying not to be hot boy, and i have a f*cking AK hanging by my leg. Just wish they could do it by default.

That would suck in a mission if you didn't use the gun for 30 seconds and then when you were ready, or in need of using it, you revered back to a fist and had to select the gun all over again. That could cost you precious health if you weren't quick enough.

I mean if you are striving for realism, it would at least take a matter of seconds to get the gun back out and into the firing position and that could be entirely too long.

Yea ok but heres the part I forgot to include.

What if lets say, and this is all hypothetically, its only when your not on a mission and that only.

I'm pretty sure that in IV/EFLC after having the gun out for a while without using it the character stores it on his person, and when you feel the need to use it by trying to aim/shoot he will pull it out again.

_L1pE_, I think you may be right, I tended to put my gun up if I had no plan to use it, so I can't recall for sure without going and checking. However, if I recall, going from stored weapon to aiming/using said firearm was instantaneous.

KillaMoneyMike, I have never been to NY and never will (most likley), I'm from Kansas, so I've not been exposed to such depths of criminal intent in my area, but that saying,... Wow.

In GTA IV, when you pull out a gun, get in a car, and get out, your character won't automatically have a gun pulled out. Only when you press one of the triggers will he take the gun out of his massive pockets, and become a "hotboy". I expect it to be like this in GTA V, so there's no need to worry.

It should be like RDR. You can give the weapon wheel button a quick tap to holster your weapon, and press it again to get it back out. It would automatically holster your gun after a while if you stayed out of combat, I think. Pressing the shoot or aim button instantly brought your weapon out, so it wasn't annoying to have your weapon holstered.

Racecarlock

So all people have an automatic nervous system response to put their guns away after 30 seconds?

Because otherwise, what you're talking about is not realism. I hate fuel and hunger, but at least those have some semblance of realism. This feature would be both annoying as hell and unrealistic. Just use the weapon wheel if it's really that important to you.

Yeah, that'd get real annoying on a stealth job, sneak into position then puts gun away 'cause you took too long confused.gif

And where I'm from they say "being a Heatscore", "Hotboy" really does sound gay

In RDR i wanted to walk around with my gun out ALL the time, not have it out for 10 seconds then put it away. Also i want to just WALK when i have a weapon equiped, i do not want to jog... Thats stupid imo, they better not bring this to V.

as long as this ^^

that's cool. i'm of same concern that it means a delay in having that weapon at the ready.

IMO to be 'realistic' though -- putting a weapon in your hand is equivalent to selecting it in the weapon wheel / menu.

so not holding it = choosing fist for weapon. if me and my crew are rolling to burgershot, i deselect my weapon before i hop in our ride, because i like to park inside the store haha & i don't want to hop out of the vehicle with an smg pointed at the cashier or she might not serve me =o ... and OP i think that is pretty much what you are talking about.

(off topic) can you not just ease back on the joystick to walk instead of trot? i have not played RDR but that is common to a lot of games. it's not as easy to keep the control stick only half pushed back though, and PC keys aren't pressure sensitive like that.

Stupid idea. RDR had this and it pissed me off. If i wanted my gun out, i'd take it out. If i wanted to put it away, I'd put it away.

I hate it when games FORCE you to do things.

The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.

So walking around with a gun out is unrealistic, or RPG, but stashing it back in your pants is?

Nope, sorry.

There is no reason it should automatically revert, if you want to put it away, you may do so, it affects nobody negatively at all except you, but that is by choice. Auto put away just annoys most people who don't care.

it's the same button to draw and holster as in Read Dead Redemption.
