Working Convertibles

Now this has probably been asked before, but after all the recent information; what do you all think now?

 

So after watching all the recent videos and previews, do you think working convertibles are in or out? Because they were only shown in Trailer 1, I'm a bit worried they've been cut

I think they're in.

 

But don't go asking Rockstar support. They're just technical support, they know as much about the game as we do.

I think they are still in. If they were able to pull it off that early in the build I am sure they have been able to perfect it by now.

I can't see why they wouldn't be in. As a piece of animation I don't think it's all that graphically demanding. I can't see why they'd cut it.

 

I hope that hot chick ped makes the cut too.

It was available in Rockstar's MCLA, which came out in 2008, so it's completely achievable. As of Nov 2012, it was still in due to it being mentioned in GameInformer's preview. And the pièce de résistance, someone asked Andrew Reiner, executive editor of GI, on Twitter, and he replied on April 30th 2013 saying that it was a mere button press. Safe to say, I think it's definitely still in.

Yeah I can't see going through all the trouble to animate it for a trailer only to cut it. That would be a big no no to the fans, getting us a hype like that to pull a "foooled yoouu".

Probably little more than a handful or two of convertibles in the game, but I see no reason they'd cut it.

 

Curious to know how well it works after you roll the car though.

As of April 2012, it was confirmed to work at a button press, by Andrew Reiner. He made it a point to ask R* at the time and that was what they told him.

Lol. they have suspension mods, intercooler systems, and all the above, but can you drop the top? NO!! That would suck, but be a hilarious wtf.

I never drive open tops in games because driving them in the Rain is stupid

Ah the 'fingerless gloves' rage topics, how I remember them. It was and still is surprising to see how so many cared for something so minor.

I prefer hardtops, so as long as we can keep a hardtop version of each car, I'm fine with convertables too
