I think we can be pretty sure that chop will behave like any story character and not permanently die unless it's part of the plot.

Null vote, Chop is obviously a part of Franklin's story and will probably involved in missions... he won't just die. Other pets will, but he wont.

I still think Chop is unique as some folk will keep hold of him and protect him no matter what. This really hasn't changed even if you can replace him.

At the end of the day Chop seems a fairly regular NPC. So i'm assuming we see Franklin have a bond with him as most people do who own a dog, If he does die it will be a sad day!

So I've read rumours that Chop can die and the player can replace him by purchasing another pooch at any local pet store. From when we saw that image of Chop lots of users thought it'd be cool to have a dog that followed the player around, something very unique for GTA and games in general.

 

However if it's true that Chop can just get lost or die and the player can replace him with another dog they purchase, do you think he's lost that uniqueness he orignally had from day one?

 

I'm probably on the edge with my answer, so I'll say yes.

 

Remember the question isn't revolved around the fact it's unique that GTA has dogs, it's revolved around the fact Chop is REPLACEABLE with other dogs.

 

This hasn't being confirmed on GTAV.NET but I've seen some threads circulating it and I read something along the same lines on some websites that are normally reliable, and personally I'd like to know whether the communities views on Chop being unique have now shifted, if this is true of course.
