Fraizer Posted July 18, 2013 Share Posted July 18, 2013 I voted 4 but I am not counting the Multiplayer gameplay series, I dont consider those to be 'Trailers'. I think we will get a character trailer for supporting characters much like RDR did... Maybe labeled Family and Friends Character trailer. Possibly One for each major supporting role like they did for each protag. One for "Michaels Family", one for "Grove Street gang", one for "Conspiracist, Meth heads and Bounty Hunters." I would like to know more about Jimmy and Tracey, Ron and associates of Trevor, and mostly know more about Lamar and the grove street gang. I am hopeful to get something about these supporting characters. So thats 3 (released all at one time) for supporting characters and the launch trailer. PHOENIXZERO Posted July 18, 2013 Share Posted July 18, 2013 I don't know about that, RDR was different in that it needed the promotion being a relatively unestablished IP that even with it being a part of Red Dead Revolver's world but it didn't set the world on fire, RDR needed a lot more promotion to get people to know what it's about and what set it apart from GTA and why people should buy it. We're two months away now from V and there's been no indication that they're going to go that route. With GTA's marketing "less is more" is the approach that seems to work, just look a the response to one video. Going overboard with videos would be much like a movie that has a ton of previews that show all of the good parts, if not most of the movie before it even comes out. And we may even get some little 'films' for the website like we got with IV as character introductions. At least we can hope that anyway because the next 2 months won't feel as dry as the past couple of years. If we only get one video, that's enough anyway. V8VANTAGE Posted July 18, 2013 Share Posted July 18, 2013 I reckon we will see a spoof trailer like we did with GTA IV (Whiz Wireless), then we will see the GTA Online Trailer; so I reckon there will be 2! Now, there might be a few videos that are under a minute. These will probably be from in-game advertisements and 30 second TV spots. However, as for full length trailers, two sounds just about right. That's unless R* ports GTA V to other platforms (PC or 8th generation consoles) in the somewhat distant future. They'll most likely release a trailer for the ports.
