Will GTA V online have what made SAMP great?

I'm sure GTA V Online will be great, but it won't be anything like SA-MP. Plus I don't really see why you think SA-MP is so great anyway. It seems poorly made and outdated to me. I enjoy MTA:SA which is the other mod for GTA SA, but we wont go into that. I do think several years from now we will see a new multiplayer mod emerge for GTA V that will have scripting features, high player slots, etc... just like SA:MP and MTA. Who knows GTA V Online may be so great that no other multiplayer mod will be needed.

More people consistently play SAMP than GTA IV, and like 2x more people are playing samp right now than GTA IV with all the consoles and the PC version official multiplayers combined, of course if your someone who likes games like CoD and never experienced anything more, the idea of SAMP will not appeal to you.

Not trying to argue but i dislike how when someone opposes what one says about a game they must be some Call of duty player or some sh*t. That just seems pretty biased others have different opinions no matter how awsome the game you like seems to you that's just the way it is. I've played sa-mp for years, I enjoyed every moment but now i prefer to play other sh*t i have no interest in playing sa-mp anymore regardless of the recent updates its not that i hate it or play call of duty (i dislike call of duty) i just can't enjoy like i did in the past(not sure why, i probally spent way too much time on it). Besides he said he enjoys MTA:SA which is a similar mod, he probaly did play sa:mp and just didn't like it much, he just has a different taste in games.

Every GTA game that has ever been released has had a PC version. And RockStar is working with Microsoft so its almost a given.

Rockstar had a contract with MICROSOFT when releasing Red Dead Redemption.

And we all know how that went.

No one ever understand how player amount works. There can be 1000 players on one server on consoles.

It's just a matter of whether or not they'll allow dedicated servers (which I'm 90% sure they won't).

 

The reason most console games have 32 players is because console online games are hosted by a player. Once players

start going over 32 the game starts having bad lag issues because of how much people are connected to your internet, therefore

they're taking a lot of your bandwidth which causes your internet to go slower which then causes the game to lag.

 

Most PC games allow dedicated servers which then a normal person/company will buy a dedicated host, then they will host the online game on that.

 

 

Another way that over 32 players could work is if Rockstar decides to host the dedicated servers. Which most likely won't happen because it costs a lot

to keep the dedicated servers online.

 

 

To people who doubt this, here's a game on ps3 that uses dedicated servers

No way in hell Rockstar can make 700-player servers. 32 max on consoles, 64 on PC. You'll have to wait until the game becomes as easy to handle for PCs as San Andreas is nowadays for someone to make a 500+ player mod that people actually play.

Defiance has 10,000 players per server. It's on console.

This is why I love being a multi-platform gamer. I don't feel the need to justify my choice in a single platform by attacking and/or belittling the choices of others. I have all 3 PC, Xbox 360, and PS3.

He typed out next-gen console. I said console, without any generation indication, because a console game with 500 players has never been done so far to my knowledge. The highest I know of is M.A.G., which is at 256 players.
