It's not that hard to work out what he/she means. If you leave your car on the street for any length of time, or go too far away from it, you'll get a parking ticket. After awhile a tow truck (crane on the back) will come & tow it to the local impound & you'll have to pay to retrieve it. Simples.

When they say your pet can die... I don't think they mean Chop. I think they mean any other pets.

Have you guys considered Chop is not important at all? Maybe you can own a dog the same way you own (and call) horses in RDR. You can give them accessoiries, like a name tag. Perhaps Chop is just the dog chosen by R* in their trailers, to make it a bit consistent. He doesn't have to be an important character, it could just be a random pet. Or has his importance/existance been confirmed somewhere?

This Chop love is getting out of hand. The game isn't even out yet and people are already in love with a fictional dog. I don't give a f*ck about the dog. It's a good thing if he can die. I'll probably kill him myself. GTA isn't a pet store simulator.

No just kidding, I actually agree with you Chop is likely just there in the trailers or is just Franklins in the begining as the Tutorial dog so to speak, to teach you what ever it is that the pets will do, which is likely just be attack dogs. Feature should be a neat novelty but I don't see it coming in to handy personally.

One thing is for sure...we won't be playing GTA V on September 17th, we'll be LIVING in Los Santos. This game has a sh*tload of content. I read about pet stores spread over LS. Well if there's multiple pet stores, I bet there will be a lot of different enterable stores. It also makes me wonder if we'll only be buying dogs or other animals...they do call it 'pets' after all.

Seeing as Chop is shown in mission cutscenes, on the boxart & in screenshots etc I'd say he plays a much larger role than horses did in RDR. I doubt he can die in freeroam as it would screw with him being in missions. There may however be a point where once x number of missions have been completed where he suddenly becomes "mortal" although I doubt it.

There could be several dog breeds of similar size that could be used in that scene or it could have been the mission that introduces Chop and the whole dog angle. It'd be cool if we chose "who" Chop is beforehand.

If Chop is a "main character", fans are better off playing Sims 3: Pets. Chop is Franklin's companion. A pet, in simple terms. He'll follow Franklin around and probably just gnaw on a policeman's leg at most. If that's what a main character does in GTA, then you're probably right.

 

This pet feature will most likely work in a similar way to RDR's horses. You obtain one, you can call for it, it'll come running. Of course you can't ride dogs, so they'll walk along by your side and defend you by barking or launching itself at the attacker if you're in danger. Only unlike RDR's horses, you can dress up your dog in fancy stuff that is very Simsy. Now there's a solid pet feature with other dogs to choose from, that takes even more emphasis off Chop.

Yes, Michael was said to have a small dog. Either way i love it that Rockstar is bringing dogs to GTA. This hopefully means we'll be seeing pedestrians with dogs on the street too.

ive been looking at this sentence for a few minutes trying to decipher what it means...i think what i got was this:

 

you can leave your car parked in the street, but if you get a ticket, the cops will take your car. you can recover the car from the impound lot once you pay for it, otherwise you lose the money youve invested in customizing your car.

That said if he dies it'll likely be that he can just respawn at your house. Though he's a dog how big of a roll will he play, maybe a few missions early on to take people down with ease, but I don't even see him and the mechanic being a big part of the game, at all. That's just me.

 

Intresting but not something that'll define the game.
