iMaxPrime
Sorry this if this has already been covered...when searching for stars in a GTA forum...you tend to get a lot of results. But I noticed in the Gameplay trailer when Franklin's clothes are being changed some of them had stars next to them? What do you think the reason for that is? Theory or two of my own. 1. Those items starred would make Franklin stick out of place and bring attention to him or 2. Those stars make him more distinguished aka a tux would have 4 or 5 stars and you would need a certain star level to talk to certain people or get into events or might even trigger npc comments.... well thats my thoughts...now its time for yours. I think there items of clothing which make him stick out from the crowd. look at the items there all skinny jeans. That have stars. I like the fact SubUrban back btw
Okin
Recently unlocked would be my guess. Or maybe some clubs etc have a dress code and the stars denote acceptable dress for higher end establishments.
stee_vo
Owned items maybe?
Mr Black
Maybe a simpler explanation is that they are items that are new or can now afford? who knows really though.

I like the fact SubUrban back btw Yea i was thinking something similar...that or it more dressy...like in certain missions in IV you had to wear a suit or sh*t to meet certain people. DarkDayz
Owned Items is my guess, or clothes needed in a specific mission to progress.
iMaxPrime
Owned items maybe? Items owned have the check mark as seen in the picture above.
Backfire6
No use guessing. We won't know until its out.
Firefly8000
My guess is items that haven't been bought already. Look under the box for the currently highlighted item, "Item owned but not currently equipped". Stars mean you haven't bought it yet. You could re-buy clothing in GTA IV too, right? EDIT: Actually, the T-shirt icon might mean you already own it, or the tick. Maybe it means they haven't been looked at yet/they're new?
poklane
I would say unlocked but not yet looked at, so you can say what you have new to buy.
Murad96
Yea, it's probably new items that you bought but haven't selected yet.

From what I am looking at my guesses after reading some responses are ✔ = Already owned Tshirt = Currently equipped Anything with money at the end = Available for purchase Star = New unlocked item
Asian_Ninja1
Probably it means you have enough to buy it?

Didn't grab the whole screen when I grabbed the image...he can afford everything on the list. ProTrainFollower
Maybe the respect element is still in the game but not as an actual skill, this would make sense.

Will his gang respect him in skinny jeans? or do you mean like a "general society" level of respect?
