_Kindled_
So, it's been confirmed we can customize our cars, and the customization is deep, how deep? Many have complained about the driving physics in GTA v, but we haven't seen alot of the driving. And in an email sent to Rockstar, they said the driving isn't arcade-y. People complained that Iv's driving was to wobbly and slippery or that the traction and suspension was too much. I don't know whether we can change the suspension, but what if you were able to re-create IV's driving physics, for those who liked the driving, like me of course, it would be pretty nice. How ever Rockstar did say that that the cars in GTA V will have a better grip if I'm not mistaken. Doesn't look arcade-y to me. œaœa
Handling.dat It's a simple file. I, for one will edit this when the PC version comes out. Just take the values from IV, simple.

DarkDayz
Rockstars driving physics are always good, if not better than some driving simulators. If they've improved it then bonus, there is nothing to even discuss, only look forward to. Nobody wants realistic car physics in GTA really, to some degree yes. But when it comes to jumping a 50 ft gap, the car should stretch on the realism a bit. The game is more about what you do with the car that makes it unique. As long as cars are fast, and the steering is good, which it has been in previous titles, then that's all good.

That said, I agree. I don't want handling overly realistic, I just want it like IV with some of the suspensions stiffened to a certain degree. If it were up to me, I would've kept IV's physics the same with better suspensions, a greater sense of speed, and less understeer -- to a degree of course. imnottpain
Yeah, IV's handling was a tiny bit clunky, but over-all it was good. The handling and the weight of the cars were just a bit heavier than normal, but otherwise it was pretty good. I will have no problems with V's driving though. 2spooky4u
Gaaaahhh I cannot wait for the change in handling, the handling in GTA IV makes me feel like i'm consistently driving on ice, and it's sh*t... I wish I could say better about it, but when i'm taking a turn at 20 miles an hour on a major highway and I swerve out and fall off the bridge and my car explodes, thats enough for me to say "f*ck it" and play GTA V because of better car physics. GTAaLEX117
Well, we don't know exactly how customized the cars in that video were, and at what driving-skill level the characters who were driving them were, so it's pretty much impossible. People should just wait until the game comes out...

jamieleng
gotta love the 14 year old f*ckboys who claims GTA 4's driving to be realistic lol... It's a hell of a lot more realistic than any other open world sandbox game. Yes, I have driven many cars in real life, after working as a driver at two luxury car showrooms. Obviously, I didn't thrash the cars, well not often anyway.
