iNero
the other thread reminded me about the SA pre release screen : I think it was mentioned in previews that you should have been able to open trunks which obviously wasnt the case at the end. So was there any hint so fas that we can finally use them? And if so, what could be its purpose? I can think of bounty missions to put the target person in the trunk to transport them after you catched them. But what else could you do with it? jogy
There's no confirmation that it will be in at this point.
+ Dragonjack +
There's no confirmation that it will be in at this point. Yeah, nothing at the moment. But I do hope Rockstar implents this feature in Grand Theft Auto V notheless.
iNero
I remember a guy in another thread said that CVG in GTAVoclock said that we can use it. he never did come up with a proof or the episode of the video series..
kesta195
Like OP said, how else are we going to transport bounties? We could put them in the back seat or whatever but trunks seem more appropriate.

EvilFuture
Hopefully, it would be pretty awesome. Although, I'm not getting my hopes up.

If you watch the gameplay trailer, you can see Trevor throwing a live bounty into a trailer.
United_Stealth
Although it sounds nice, for what would this be useful?
iNero
that would be awesome. if it is in i hope you can put people in there anytime not just bounty missions. was like that in RDR. Mainly hope for it in free roam. such features just give you alot of fun even in more empty areas. like in RDR you could just catch guys with a lasso and pull them around or lay them on the rails and so on. I really hope we will get alot of such features. the more you can do the more fun you will have and the less moments were you get bored cause you cant do sh*t in specific areas. GTA always lacked of interactions with peds. RDR was a step foward with being able to rob people on the streets and the lasso feature

GTA always had many feature which were only in Missions but not free roam. Like in GTA4 were you were able to open the trashmaster press in a mission, while in free roam you couldnt do anything with it.
SheldonByrne
Yes in fact alot of people overlook this statement in the very first Game Informer article and GTAV.net did a good job of putting it up "Cargo space is used and is no longer 'empty space'." or something along those lines

But we would need the context thoug. That could just mean that this time there are object in the trunk which you can see when it gets opened during a crash or so
