GTA V vs Next-Gen

GTA V comes out in September, Next Gen Consoles around November, GTA V costs around $60, Next gen Consoles cost $399 - $500, the reason why GTA V is out in such a lame date is exactly to avoid this direct conflict. And I still believe those new consoles will be shipped and by the same time a GTA V version will be announced for them.

You guys must be blind if you think GTA V alone will hurt Next Gen. What's going to hurt Next Gen is the lack of good games until the Middle of Next Gen. That's when you get great games and sometimes Master Pieces. At the end of every gen is the best games and Master Pieces.

 

So in truth none will hurt each other. There will be a balance between the two.

I don't think they'll have an effect each other.

 

For me I'll get GTA V in September, and PS4 when it launches. I'm not trading my PS3, I'll have it till it dies. Since PS4 doesn't have BC, I don't see the point in trading in my PS3.

I'm buying it for PS3, But I want it for PC. And I'll get it for PC when that time comes,

 

although I think the PC release will be seperate from the Gen8 consoles. whether it means before or after. I don't know

On a tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny scale GTA 5 has already affected the sales of the next gen. It's my case! I know i am a needle in a haystack but it is true.

 

My trusty 6 years old Xbox 360 died on me 2 months ago. I decided i wouldn't buy another one because maybe GTA 5 will be available on new consoles at launch. Guess what it isn't so i decided to get a PS3. This means that i won't be buying any new console until mid of 2014.

 

So in my case GTA 5 affected 1 sale

when a new console and a GTA were still "on the horizon" without many details, i thought to myself "guess we'll be buying a new console around Christmas 2013" -- it especially looked like they would coincide and V might be a console-launch sort of title.

 

when i heard GTAV will be on the current generation, not the next, one of the first things i thought was "i am no longer interested in even thinking about a new console until at least Christmas 2014"

 

in that regard, me too. i could care less about ps4/xbox1 at this point, and V influenced my thinking there completely. i don't want to play a brand new game every 3-5 weeks, so one game is a big deal to me.

 

on the other hand i'm sure i will eventually buy a new console, so in the long run GTA V does not affect a console sale for me at all.

 

so, yes, totally, and no, not a dang bit.

GTA V is the last GTA on current gen and probably for the next 5 years why would anyone miss it.

 

Also next gen doesn't have a GTA so what's the point in getting the One/PS4? Besides being a graphic whore or wanting to play a sh*tty fps.
