The Silly FPS Test: How much visuals do we lose on

I've made a little test on Far Cry 3, comparing how much graphics can we lose if we want to set the game on a stable 60 FPS pitch.

 

30 FPS, Ultra settings, 4xAA:

The test is made to learn if the developers' idea to lock every console game on 30 FPS is right and how much graphical advantage does that give in comparison with 60 FPS. It might be a bit inaccurate, considering I'm playing on a PC (duh!) and the case might be a little different with PS4 and XONE.

 

But if the test is, to a certain excent, accurate, then I think we can all say that the graphical advantage of 30 FPS is noticeable, but not major. It makes me think, if the game locked on 60 FPS doesn't look that much worse from its 30 FPS version, why the hell do developers seem to avoid the fluidness in their games? I mean, judging by this funny little test, it means that if The Last of Us looked somewhere between Uncharted 1 and Uncharted 2, it could run on 60 FPS without a sweat!
