Hello.

I wanted to know which meets function

of yoga in gta 5.

Perhaps it helps us in our abilities?

I think it might have something to do with the character specific abilities, but that's just me

It asks you to find 'nirvanas to pursue' so maybe it just gives you locations on the map where you can do yoga, kind of like a way to get you to explore the map while boosting abilities or skills?

Hope it's not boring.

This is very curious confused.gif.

Maybe it's we do can as exercises in GTA SA in the gym.

But instead of increasing muscle

increase another skill.

I hope its available for Trevor... in his dirty underwear.

I bet it has something to do with the lung capacity. You can see that while selecting characters to switch.

stamina could also be upgraded with bike races.

i was wondering how it would work, we saw the meter for golf and tennis. The controls and stuff?

I think cause Michael is older its an activity for him so he can be more flexible, with jumping and running. I can't see Franklin or Trevor doing yoga

my guess is stamina and/or lung capacity skill boost.

you can probably get the same effect by walking, running or swimming for a long distance, but faster by spending a few minutes at a time doing the yoga minigame.

in Trevor's case i think it may be useless because of the urge to snap and beat down the yoga instructor with a giant purple dildo =o

I think it'll be how we unlock the map. Sort of like Far Cry 3 how we climb radio towers to unlock the map, we have to climb up to the very top of mountains in hard to reach places and perform yoga to gain "awareness of our surroundings".

I would say either stamina, strength or both. I think we will be encourage to do it often since Mike's starting stamina and strength was looking pretty low

My guess: minor Stamina, Lung Capacity, Special and Stealth increase, Michael exclusive, a few minutes of animation which can be skipped, only able to do again after 6 in-game hours have passed.

Um.. yeah.. except for that little part where map is unlocked from the beginning.

This. I think it's more about seeking out unique (aka beautiful) locations, probably mostly rural. And when you find them it probably just puts you into a brief animation where you watch yourself do a quick stretch while eye-f*cking the scenery. I'd say just an excuse to check out the amazing job they did with building the land.

...and then maybe it increases your stamina or something too. There has to be a practical reason for "seeking out your nirvanas" on top of just checking out a nice sunrise.

Ah good point. Kind of like an Assassin's Creed sync when climbing towers. And to the dude who said the map's unlocked already, I think he meant more like it fills in your map better with names/locations, like in RDR when you came across a unique location, which would then register on your map afterwards.

EDIT: And not that it matters, but as an AC fan I feel the need to point out Far Cry 3 took this idea directly from Assassin's Creed. They're both Ubisoft after all.

I guess you have never played far cry 3. Far cry 3's map is open from the start too but every time you activate a radio tower the it unlocks a section of the map on the pause screen.

I mean unlocked in the visual sense... as in "unveiled". I think the map will be blank to start with so you go around doing these yoga things on the mountaintops to uncover the visual map/blips in the pause menu. Like Far Cry 3.

I didn't play FC3 but I see by the response up there what you meant. Still I don't think that would be the point. In FC3 the character was a tourist who never saw the island before right?

In GTA V Rockstar themselves things will be different because for the first time characters have actually lived there long before the game starts(CJ did too, but he was absent for a long time and probably never went out of the ghetto while he growing up) so they know the place, no need to hide anything in any way. Plus, the ingame internet seems to contain the map as well in a from of google earth parody.

Anyway, I don't think it would really make sense to do that. As most have suggested, I too agree yoga will probably increase either special ability or stamina (my bet's on the special as stamina will probably be increased with bike riding and swiming/running too).

Stamina - increased by running, bike riding, and swiming

Lung Capacity - possibly increased by repeatedly diving with no oxygen tank and preforming yoga

Shooting - increased by, well, shooting... as well as gun range and hunting

Driving - increased by racing and driving

Stregnth - increased by gyms and POSSIBLY yoga (only for Mike because, I just can't picture Michael lifting iron)

Flying - Increased by flying, flight school, and stunt trials

The only stat that is a mystery on how to increase it would be stealth... that should be interesting. I assume it goes up for every kill you make that doesn't alert a wanted star but I'm just speculating...
