CoD broke the records a couple of years later, more people had a console. Now most gamers have consoles, there is no reason why GTA cannot completely destroy every game sales record out there. Especially now Japan's release is shortly after everyone elses. The game is definitely big enough to break all the records again. Also, the kids won't be able to get GTA as easily as Cod, and Cod opens on more platforms, giving it a massive advantage. Regardless of that I think the sales will still be very close. I favour GTA though completely. We don't see them often, and pretty much everyone with a console is going to try getting there hands on it. I think it can, just look at the Official Gameplay Video, it has over 16,000,000 views after just a week, while the Call of Duty: Ghosts reveal trailer hasn't even reached that amount after two months. Grand Theft Auto is pretty much the only game on the market that can give Call of Duty a run for its money in sales. Do you think it will dethrone Call of Duty? exactly... Even people who play way different games are hyped for this game (for instance on some Fifa forum), while nobody seems hyped for Cod: Ghosts... I imagine it will have the highest overall reviews on metacritic.com and gamerankings.com for any game this year. It will probably win the most 'game of the year' awards. However, unless the GTAV multiplayer is extraordinary, it will be in the top 5 of most played multiplayer games for PSN and Xbox Live, rather than being number one. And it sold 3 million pre-orders around the UK alone on both platforms together. COD couldn't even do half that. Stupid stuff as in brand new and overhyped af because a turd needs as much pampering as possible to appear otherwise. The tables have turned though as most of these stupid people finally realize that the cod franchise was a financial scheme by activision to put the least effort on game and milk the game every year to make a quick buck off of the unfortunate souls who fell for their hype trap. IV 'only' stands at 20,86 million. At the end I would say both will have sold around ~26 copies 9 months after release. At the end we just have to see which sells better. But at the end sales don't matter, the quality does. Also, stop hating other games, you have to respect what other people like. I personally like running around the map with my friends picking of loads of enemies just to hear them scream and cry through my headset.
