But it's not going to stop me from buying this game, those trailers are f*cking awesome, I loved FC3. Btw when is Ubi going to release PC requirements? GunWrath Posted October 27, 2014 Share Posted October 27, 2014 To be honest, I'm not a big fan of Far Cry, I've played and finished 3 but didn't really like it. It looked good visually and all but it just seemed too repetitive for me. Take over this camp, hunt, craft, climb tower. 4 seems to be more action-packed and although they've recycled a lot.. I think I would rather wait for a true Next Gen Far Cry than to buy this at full price. Which I feel the same towards a lot of games these days and the ones coming out this Holiday.. I'm just waiting for true next gen games to come out before buying all these games on day one. I know the scene that aired @ E3 was pretty cool and it attracted me.. but from the latest videos and all.. just wasn't the same 'oh damn, that looks awesome'.. Or perhaps he's somehow completely oblivious to the fact that a significant majority of the gameplay will inevitably be fighting Pagan Min's forces. @ AiraCobra: If the enemy design of said forces is completely ridiculous with bright red combat trousers, then immersion is ruined for a significant portion (if not majority) of the game. So yes, one of the main reasons I am not buying the game (until it hits the bargain sections) is the colour of the enemy clothing. So you are very wrong in trivialising the reasoning behind this. iNero Posted October 27, 2014 Share Posted October 27, 2014 From what I saw, this game is just a re-skinned Far Cry 3. Almost everything is the same. I mean, there is nothing wrong with using the good things from the previous game but this game is really just Far Cry 3 with a different skin and Coop instead of competetive MP. I guess that is a bad trend in the industry, and one reason why so many people get burned out by games so quickly these days. You don't even have to make a completley new game, just add some features that justify another 60 ... unfortunately publishers and devs seem to think that a graphics upgrade alone would make the job for them... The Witcher series does it right imo. They didnt do small upgrades but changed major things with becoming open world being one of the biggest. Anyways... What I saw so far doesnt make me pay the full price... gunziness Posted October 27, 2014 Share Posted October 27, 2014 I agree ^, while I love the new setting, the game seems to reutilize almost EVERYTHING that was good in FC3. They even used the same animations for almost everything too, reloading animations, climbing animations, running, walking annimations, even the healing animations, nothing new, just reskins and better graphics. When it comes to HUD, its the same thing. It would been much better if they used the same concept from FC2, which is, the less HUD possible the better. The map was more interactive and it didnt make you pause the game in order to see it, the charcarter would bring a map up and you would see it while being in the world at the same time, it was pretty innmersive i might say, the game itself was much much more inmesrsive than FC3 actually, but it seems they just didnt take any of the good things from that game (since they "already" did that with FC3 I guess). Anyway, like I said, the setting seems very interesting, and so the characters (the antagonists in FC3 were among my all time favorites too) so I believe this game will deliver aswell in that aspect, we will see. Way too many spoiler videos are out for it already. ( Like this is anything new, right? LOL) Its just wrong to see the first two hours of gameplay before I even bring the game home. Why remodel and retexture something when you can just use a model again. Its just extra work for little benefit. I did like the map idea from Farcry 2 so you didnt have to pause every 5 seconds. I also liked the guns deteriorating in FC2 (even though it was accelerated as hell compared to a real gun). Id like that feature back but not "this gun jams after shooting 5 shots" like some guns in FC2 The malaria was complete BS in FC2 and completely drew away from the story line The map creator was great but they need to add vehicles back into maps. FC3 just messed up so badly not allowing vehicles to spawn in online (you could place them in though, which made no sense) Destructible buildings, towers, etc would be a great addition Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It doesn't matter if they were advertised or not. Ubisoft has UPlay, so unless they ditch UPlay the games wont be on steam.
