Gran Turismo 6

A demo version of the highly anticipated Gran Turismo®6 game for PlayStation®3 will make a high-profile debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed (11-14 July). By far the biggest motoring event of its type in the world, with a crowd of 185,000+ people, the Festival of Speed provides the perfect setting among motoring and motor sports enthusiasts to showcase the latest developments to “The Real Driving Simulator’”. Iconic, circular Gran Turismo® “race pods” will be positioned at various locations around the sensational Goodwood Park for people to try the new demo in advance of the game going on sale later this year

Gran Turismo is PlayStation’s biggest ever game franchise, having sold more than 70 million copies since launching in 1998. Having recently announced that Gran Turismo 6 will be on sale later in the year, Kazunori Yamauchi, the game’s legendary creator and president of developer Polyphony Digital Inc, was keen to showcase the new game with the discerning Goodwood audience.

The partnership will see GT6™ pods located at the Goodwood Hotel, the FoS Family area and in the members’ enclosure as well as in the Drivers’ Club and media centre. In keeping with Gran Turismo’s long track record for close and innovative partnerships with a number of automotive manufacturers, pods will also be located on the Nissan and Alfa Romeo stands and in the Nissan, Mercedes-Benz and Ford areas of the Moving Motor Show.

Nissan, PlayStation’s partner in the innovative GT Academy programme that aims to take the best Gran Turismo gamers and turn them into real racing drivers, will be hosting a competition at Goodwood for the fastest gamers on the GT6 demo to win places directly into the UK national finals of the competition. GT Academy is currently live online for anyone with a PlayStation to enter. The “wildcard” event will take place at Nissan’s Moving Motor Show display, with one person each day winning their ticket to the next round of the Academy.

Kazunori Yamauchi himself will be a welcome visitor to the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed. A keen amateur racer, Yamauchi-san will be donning his overalls and helmet for some high-adrenaline drives up the famous hill climb course in a number of stunning cars. With a reputation as a perfectionist, no doubt his experience behind the wheel will go into further refining some of the expected 1200 cars that will feature on Gran Turismo 6 at launch!

I enjoyed Gran Turismo 5 very much although I felt too much was handed to you for free and there wasn't the same challenge as in previous games but I'm very interested in hearing more about yet another sequel.

GT5 was awesome and I loved it, a few flaws, but hopefully most of these will be ironed out in GT6. Glad to see Apricot Hill has returned, now with night time! biggrin.gif

Not really...

OT: Is this supposed to get ported onto PS4 ? I may pick it up if that will happen.

I've always been a big fan of GT. I'm going to wait until later next year to buy this game, though.

Well sheeeiit, I guess the anniversary edition will be good after all lol

That $1,000,000 and the 20 cars will be really useful I bet. alien.gif

Are they seriously recycling the old 2010 and 2011 nascars?

And I really hope the McLaren P1 and the Lamborghini Veneno are featured.

Them things is hot.

I don't think GT6 will have the P1 for a while, seeing as T10 seem to have the license for it for FM5 for now at least. I'm happy with the car and track list for GT6, I'd say the track list is better than FM5s for sure.

Looks unbelievable for a 47 year old racing car. About time they've modeled a premium version.

Buuump.

Here's the updated "standard" RUF CTR Yellowbird in GT6. One of many cars that have been updated from the terrible standard car quality of GT5.

Here's GT5s to compare

Though it's still standard in GT6, it's looking a lot more.. acceptable.

It does, but there's nothing forcing you to buy then. Just if you're lazy and can't be bothered to play the game properly I guess. At least there's not a load of cars that you have to pay extra for on day 1.

Edit:

BMW M4 Coupe coming to Gran Turismo 6

The BMW M4 Coupe will be coming to GT6 for free in an update, not long after the games launch. :colgate:

But £34.99 for 7 million credits? That's a rip off even for the people who actually buy those.

Doesn't affect the other people so that's okay.

^

Oh and PD already announced GT7 for the PS4 which could potentially come out next year. So it's already in development.

I'm still pulling for the P1.

That whole "buying credits" is really cheap (not in the price sense). It's like a dlc that says "Hey! Want to skip the entire game? Have some credits!" Glad it's optional.

For the first time in a Gran Turismo game, I'm not starting with an EK3 Civic Type-R, instead I've been running a 210hp CR-X Si-R like I did for a long while in GT5 :inlove:

I also managed to have my first GT6 rollover, in an '05 DC5 Integra :p

I'm still yet to try the pre-order signature cars though...

Well, if you have played GT5 previously, then you might be disappointed. It's exactly the same thing except it uses a new rendering engine which means better and more realistic physics and tiny better lighting. Oh and the sounds are still like vacuum cleaners until a patch comes out in a short while.

I don't think this is worth £44.99. What bullsh*t is this?
