This game makes GTA: IV feel like ____

the second best open world game.

RDR is a better open world game than IV.

I think it's funny how you feel it's necessary to challenge someone's opinion whenever there's the slightest hint of praise for GTA IV. wink.gif

From a technical point of view I am right. I still like IV but from a gameplay standpoint GTA SA, GTA V, and RDR beat it.

I was playing GTA IV just before and honestly the game still puts a smile on my face. I guess someone has to fly the GTA IV flag high and proud. tounge.gif

As much as I criticize it all credit to you Miami for doing so! With such patience too - a rare trait on here!

Superior game since you're at least one protagonist which doesn't break immersion.

Get out.

I'm sorry but that is the stupidest yet funniest quote train I've ever seen.

It's like comparing GTA SA to IV, it makes GTA IV feel like the previous GTA.... wink.gif Nah seriously I think GTA IV was great but GTA V will hit the game market like a bomb. It has an all-new 3 character concept, so you can't really compare them... I think every GTA game was groundbreaking in some ways, but GTA V will set new standards witch have never been there before.

This game makes GTA: IV feel like a great game.

Without IV there would be no V.

IV+EFLC was what made GTA V, 3 characters. GTA IV was a perfect game and it always will be even if that means GTA V will be a little better.

GTA IV was pretty good imo... i played alot more GTA IV than GTA: SA mostly because it had multiplayer (on consoles, cause on PC theres GTA: SA Multiplayer)

So... This game makes GTA: IV feel like his ''father'' tounge.gif

GTA IV is very underrated. It wasn't perfect by any means; it did have more than a few drawbacks. But IV and it's episodes broke ground in ways that so many people fail to realise. It achieved a great many things and was actually quite a solid game.

What it also was, was a stepping stone. It laid a new foundation. And the game we are about to get is built on that foundation. If nothing else IV paved the way for V.

Makes GTA IV feel like wasted potential. GTA IV really should have contained good number of features that are seen in GTA V.

Having said that, I've come to like GTA IV a lot more after a second play through, much more than I did the first time I played it. GTA IV is still a great, classic game, I enjoyed it a lot and it gave me many memorable moments. I will definitely play it again at some later stage, even after I finish playing GTA V.

A classic that was so advanced for its time. I still play GTA IV (on PC), but I probably won't when I finally get the PC version of GTA V. I'll miss Roman wanting to go bowling.

Might have to do with testing out the new engine. IV is the game they had to make to create games like RDR & GTA V.

icon14.gif Well said.

GTA IV was the catalyst that set off the rest of the classic R* titles.

I don't know about that, and I don't think you can be too sure of that either.

RDR was made by Rockstar San Diego, not the same people who made GTA, who are Rockstar North. And RDR was made from a completely different engine to GTA IV and work was started on the game around a similar time to GTA IV's development.

GTA V has been made with a completely new engine, Rockstar said so themselves. But IV probably helped them develop this.

Quite frankly Pads I've seen GTA IV get criticised for basically everything. Nothing surprises me anymore and it's still my favourite GTA. smile.gif

I'll reserve judgement for GTA V when I play it. After all GTA III and VC have less features than SA yet I still think they're better games.

RDR was made with the RAGE engine. Same engine as IV and V. Granted RDR was made by a different studio but a R* studio none the less. Knowing how companies work I am sure they shared things internally. So knowledge from making IV was definitely shared to R* San Diego thus making RDR a better product.

The development for both games might have started at the same time but RDR was released 2 years later which means they had extra time to make a superior project.

People need to realize that making a game is not a easy task. It takes a lot to learn certain hardwares and game engines.
