DymeDef
Well the console version of GTA IV was pretty boring once you finished it. It sadly had no interesting stuff to do. Bowling? Lol, no thanks. I found GTA IV to be a lot of fun when you are playing the story and free roaming in not too long of sessions. The problem is killing cops only stays fun for so long. On PC, I am still playing the sh*t out of IV and have been a lot the last three years. Mods, of course spice up the routine, but vanilla GTA IV was a solid game. It just lacked other things to do outside of killing cops in free roam. GTA V has some interesting things to do when you are bored of killing. Also you have to think about the fact that GTA IV was their first game on RAGE and their first attempt at an actual TPS, and not some lock on game. Now that there has been two stellar games to come out and blow us away on RAGE, GTA V is set to disintegrate our minds completely. I just feel like with GTA V, you will never be sitting around thinking, "hmm what to do now?". There are already so many fun things to do, and the game isn't even released yet, imagine when we can see what all the things that are possible in the game? Ugh, someone freeze my body for two months and thaw me out when its released. Lol.

redx165
What do you find so charming about GTA IV's LC? I find it to be very grey and boring. Hardly anything to do within the city, a lot of blank space filled with badly detailed, unenterable buildings. I like the architecture and the way each neighbourhood feels different and unique to the next. It's really the only city I like to walk around and explore every single nook and cranny. IV felt lifeless and nothing really happened there. It felt safe ALL the time. No mugs, no police chase ( In car ), no car jacks, or gang shootouts. Plus there was nothing to do after the story. cbiscuit93
IV didn't focus on the freedom that SA was all about. That's my problem with it. In SA there was always something different & fun you could do instead of what you were currently doing. In IV there's like 6 side activities =/
KingJames37
cmon guys gta iv wasnt that bad I agree. IV wasn't bad at all. Just didn't have all the bells and whistles we all expected from next gen technology. We always want more, better, faster, stronger. Now we will all expect more from ps4/xboxnone. What we wanted from the ps3/360 we will get in the new gen... But alas... We are all a**holes and will expect better. Oh wait... Not me... Because I'm not a COMPLETE a**hole. Just a lil' bit. There needs to be some crime for the BIGGEST USA city.

There needs to be some crime for the BIGGEST USA city. I agree, the ambient life in GTA IV native was bleak at best. I would have loved to see more shootouts and car jackings, thefts and whatnot going on in the more dangerous areas. I really missed that feeling of walking down a street and knowing that someone could come around the corner decked out in his colors and have to be ready for a fight. Though with mods I was able to obtain this, but it shouldn't have had to be this way. These things should have been native. New York isn't the same as it was in the 90's or 80's, no but it still has areas where crime runs rampant. Not a single place in LC gave me the feeling of that outside of that I knew it was supposed to clone the area of a ghetto. I have a feeling there will be ambient crime, gang activity, and other random sh*t going on in V. In GTA IV the random encounters were all just missions but shorter and easier, All scripted and had cut scenes. RDR took the random encounters to the next level of making them not missions but tasks, and V sounds like they took it to the next level and some can start small missions like a murder investigation. The feeling of life within the city is the most important aspect of a sandbox game, and Rockstar has taken a looooooong time to make this game. I don't think they are going to skimp out on the cities ambient life.
