mattfab
Look at 3:06 into the gameplay, this is when franklin runs to cover behind the buffalo. There is a pickup truck that is back where the enemies are, and it seems to explode, but then actually it hasn't. Look It seems to have exploded, but never explodes in the gameplay, unless it did explode and doesn't look that damaged. It just looks like it stays on fire. Will vehicles be more durable in gta v compared to iv? What do you think? Edited July 9, 2013 by mattfab

brian.
They were a bit TOO durable and hard to blow up in IV. The fakest part about IV was how much I could smash a car and still drive it. When I show people the game who don't get games, they only talk about how "yea right, you would be dead, and the car would be totaled" Simulation is more important than gameplay and graphics at this stage (to me, and to Rockstar, as Jeronimo said the goal of GTA is to simulate what you really see outside and they won't stop until they do - check gametrailers tv for Lost and Damned interview in video, it is the goal of GTA, to simulate), especially after GTA IV set the bar and still remains the most advanced and most realistic all around package in a video game you can buy. V cars so far scare me as a step back, if they are even harder to disable this time, it's like IV was worthless waste of time, and that is unacceptable. Anyhow, that is for sure an exploded truck, post-explosion, it has blown up. Dunno what exploded, didn't take another look yet, but in the picture, that is clearly an exploded vehicle which even blew off a wheel. Edited July 9, 2013 by brian. Solarcellular
I don't think the explosion turns the whole car black/ charred, just the fire when it reaches it. The ones in IV charred straight away, a bit unrealistically.

In the gameplay I saw the tire off and one of the doors off. There's a good chance your'e right tho. Edited July 9, 2013 by mattfab

Nick0025
It's either the damage in V sucks or as somebody mentioned, it could have been modded ammunition that somebody off-frame shot at the pickup truck. After all, Customization seems to be a big thing in V wether it's vehicles or weapons

Solarcellular
Note that the front left wheel is burning, unlike the rear, hence my above comment.
GTAaLEX117
I had the feeling that something exploded in front of the car, you can see that the whole car doesn't explode. Edit: It's actually to the left of the car. Look at this frame: The car basically spun around, which isn't consistent with it blowing up, but with an explosion that pushed it.
