mrbozzedup
I notice in the new video its two stats on the characters that I find hard to figure out how we can upgrade unless we can hit the gym. Like driving and lung capacity can be built up by of course driving and diving, but how can strength and stamina be built up? I think working out has been secretively put in the game. What do you guys think ? Sorry for the huge pic

Travís.
This is the first i'm hearing about not being able to use gyms.. link to where it says that?
Wuggatus
Maybe they added it, like what they did to the property buying.
GTAaLEX117
Who said we can't?
Kirsty
Back then it was said that we can't use gyms to change our shape, but I think since they are in-game and we've since heard about these stats, they must be be accessible not necessary to change our image. i.e. we won't be visibly fatter or musclier, but there will be a difference in our skills. Marlo-Lionches
Fighting will probably build up strength, swimming for stamina.
Lil_B_The Basedgod
This is the first i'm hearing about not being able to use gyms..link to where it says that? Nowhere... they said no body building. They never said no gyms.
Staten
Bicycles Yep, bicycles. And also tennis. And yoga.
mike-commander
Actually it was never confirmed that the player is not able to use gyms. However, it was confirmed that working out at the gym will not make your character's appearance change, such as more muscle. Thats where your confusion is I think. There are gyms all over Venice Beach as detailed in the first trailer, and peds can be seen working out, makes sense if we could too, right? As for building stamina, competing in triathalons seems the most logical. Gameplay of a triathalon is shown in the trailer with a stamina bar at the bottom. Maybe it increases with all physical activity, such as normal bike rides?
ASNAEB
Stamina can be improved by bike riding and running, so you can sprint for longer (I think), so that skill can be trained without gyms. What 'strength' refers to in GTA V I don't know, I guess fighting would be improved but would be strange if you couldn't use a gym then.
poklane
Cycling and just fighting with hands?
5000 Staples
More to the point here. No one from R* or any game mags did they say you cannot use gyms, you just can't change the shape of the character i.e getting them bigger. like a few have said already. mrbozzedup
Yeah i think i was confused when they said we wouldnt be able to change our characters physical appearance such as fatter, skinnier stuff like that. so i assumed the gyms would be useless
Revolution-XW
Maybe they added it, like what they did to the property buying. Indeed. I hope Strength also helps you run faster while carrying a gun and things like that, and take less damage.

AJayG
i think they probably will be useable would be a bit pointless if not imo.
Backfire6
Ya if the outside gym was there just for show....why did they bother adding it then???? I guess just more GTA LOGIC
Archvile78
Fighting will probably build up strength, swimming for stamina. From that screenshot i'll be fighting hand-to-hand a lot with Trevor.

GTAVTheHeat
I would think you can build up your strength and stamina, but as far as I know it wouldn't have any cosmetic differences. If you could go to the gym it would just make your stamina and strength increase. But they've already stated in game informer that making the characters gain weight and muscle mass wouldn't really work correctly so they opted out. I read that in my mag but just searched for and couldn't find it on the net so it might be in the game. But heres an IGN link to why not and I'll also quote : "On why San Andreas’ body building mechanic isn’t in GTA V: It's a really cool feature, and we just haven't really used it since. We'd love to use it in a future game. It works really well in a California-set game. It just looked like, if the three characters were going to be something that was worth having, then that was something it would be worth not having." http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/11/17/gta...stions-answered
