Cebra
I have no idea if this has been confirmed or even talked about by Rockstar, but at the end of the gameplay video where Michael is on the computer purchasing an apartment at the marina, do you think property like this can be used to plan heists? For example, when Michael, Trevor and Franklin gather to plan at their "HQ", (which in the video looked like a small bungalow), do you think the properties you have purchased could be used as a base for the planning? If the bank/jewelry story they were going to rob was near the marina, maybe you could by that 250k apartment just because it would be easier to go back and forth to scope the place out. In the trailer on a blackboard there was a list of 5 steps to the jewelry store robbery: 1. Evaluate security 2. Photograph interior 3. Decide approach 4. Pick crew 5. Get carbine rifles If you forked out the money to buy a building close to the jewelry store, steps 1 and 2 could be much easier. Given how we've already seen Franklin with binoculars in a screenshot, maybe to evaluate security all you'd have to do is take shifts scouting the place with binoculars, while another protagonist left down the street, get inside and take a picture. This would be impossible to do if the only property you had was a shack out in Blaine County. Personally, I think this would be a really cool feature, and other than collecting money from out businesses/properties, this could be another reason to pay for property: to plan the perfect heist. Thoughts? Edit: I just realized that before buying property, you have the option to get directions to go look at the building. Why would that be an option if not to see how close it is to a place due to be robbed? Edited July 9, 2013 by PhilosophicalZebra
Seenyour31
Yes, it would be good if purchased properties acted as more than a source of income and a save point, maybe when you are in the process of planning a heist, Michael calls and they all have to meet at a apt. you had purchased that was close to their target. Well, for a game about money I doubt properties will only be useful for income. I'd be really surprised if it wasn't used in the heists. (i.e. getting your money's worth). whatnow
Options to utilize purchased property would be amazing, like: - Save point - Heist Planning HQ - Rent out (cant go to, but steady cash-flow) All while watching the value go up or down, and selling when you'd like.
