I appreciate the new driving mechanics. I don't know why everyone wants this game to be a life simulator.

GTA IVs driving was cool but it wasn't fun.

Well I guess that's your opinion, and we all have different ones. What makes a huge portion of this series is its extensive and realistic driving, and for them to throw that out would be terrible. I thought how you need to put effort into how you move your vehicle in GTA IV was great, it didn't make everything seem so easy. But, that's my opinion. Realistic driving for GTA V would be great, not to mention how driving physics affect how a vehicle would roll.

I really never thought that the driving dynamics would be even something to be concerned about in V, due to how successful GTA IV was. But my opinion.

It does look arcade, or weird, but I'll have to wait and see fer myself.

It did look a lot more fluid than IV, which is a bit concerning but that was only mainly with the really fast cars. It should be fine.

I'd like a driving system just a LITTLE BIT more dynamic that the IV one and with cars that are not slowed down, that's it

I just hope they didn't do something awful to it.

Also, I'm still waiting for the damn PC version! It'll most likely come out either alongside with or after the next-gen one though.

Keep in mind you pretty much only saw really fast and responsive super cars that might be tuned to the max and stuff.

That's true.

I hope not to be honest. If I upgrade the cars I expect them to feel better (to a point) and more fun. Not for the physics to be downgraded

Trevors car had amazing physics. That racing car probably is the only car that drives like that.

I was slightly worried they may have taken a back step from the excellent driving physics of GTA IV.

However, in the recent game informer article that talks about the garage, they mention you can tune the actual handling and performance as well as paint jobs, wheels etc

So, it may be the case that EVERYONE is catered for, you just need a quick stop at garage to tune car to your liking.

I don't get all this unrealistic arcadey talk, watch some videos of real life cars going at those speeds, then compare them to the games, GTA V seems to have captured it much better than the floaty, leaning way it was in GTA 4.

I still play iv to this day and its all because of the driving, it's perfect! Why would they ruin it? To get more attention of the mindless 8 year old call of duty gamers? The game could be so sophisticated and honestly the perfect game if they change the childish driving physics and make it so it requires a little skill to not ruin your car! Please just fix that, go back to iv and ill have no doubts, as of now I'm concerned!

This driving seems beautiful to me. I mean, specifically the scene with the supercar weaving through traffic...it would be unrealistic if a minivan was getting that kind of grip, but for a car made for speed and handling that is right on the money. I hated the fact that the Infernus in IV would take as long to stop as a Schafter. That's completely unrealistic.

If it is Need for Speed Most Wanted (original) arcade type handling it will be a laugh. Not sure about off roading though...

If it is Saints Row type 'hold accelerate down max and get around the hairpin easily'... then they've f*ckED IT.

I wanted GTA 4s physics and handling but with the suspension stiffened a bit (to get rid of the boat-like feel on some of the cars)... I think they're changed it WAY to much... but I havn't played it so this isn't a final statement or anything. I just hope we still have suspension because I just don't see it...

They look WAY too arcade-ish, in my opinion... but I won't form a solid opinion on this until I've tested the driving myself. After all, it could be Franklin driving the car, so it looks a lot easier.

I dont think they will go Saintsrow style because i saw some physics when trevor was driving.

If you think about it the driving in GTA games has always been aracadeyish up until GTA 4, so it's just going back to how it should be

I will wait until I play the game. It looked arcady when we saw fast cars but when in that Trevor police chase part, it looked pretty good to me. I guess it will vary from a car to car.

It looks fine in the gameplay vid, very tight. However, I've put I'll have to try it first.

Just wondering on other peoples opinion about the driving dynamics in GTA V?

I thought I was crazy for thinking this! I was scared to see how the car was turning in one of the scenes, but I think it might just be the affect of the driving camera

Sneakerhead.

Will have to play to decide.

As I said awhile ago, I expected the driving, at least in high-speed situations, to be "movie like" in terms of chases and action with stunt drivers/characters capable of things that are very unlikely to be possible in real life and that's largely what it appears to be. Then again, I'm not that big a fan of GTA IV's driving physics...

I'm cool with it and we've yet to actually see how far it goes.

Remember. One of the previews said that the man playing the demo was "the best GTA player I've ever seen". None of us will be able to drive like that.

Where?

After watching the gameplay trailer over again and again, I think the driving might be ok. Cause when you look at Trevor running from the cops the truck hes in is not that arcady.

I really hope they haven't ruined the driving, it would be heartbreaking if they ruined something so big in what looks to be a truly amazing game. sad.gif

You can't get anything from watching a video.

People who claim they can, are either 1) morons, or 2) liars.
