Weapon wheel.

That old red building reminded me of Red Dead Redemption for some reason.

I like the weapon wheel and they added the parachute as well.

Too much of Max Payne 3 when shooting and I missed the car physics from GTA IV, looked too much like GTA 3 (carsteering)

I hate gta 4 driving mechanics, so I am all for the arcadey throw back car mechanics.

It also seems that when you shoot and for explosions, you'll see a red circle growing bigger and slowly goes back. This would mean that in that area people will know where you are, and will investigate that area.

Check 3.08 in the gameplay video

Can anyone make out those indicators on the GPS for the multiplayer part at the end, I know one is parachuting and I think the other one says "PS"?

So much awesomeness packed into this video. Franklin shooting up ballas with that AK was so awesome. Looked so smooth. Very impressed with what I saw.

Is Auto Aim Disabled ???

Between 3:08 and 3:21 auto aim seem disabled or removed from the Game.

Maybe I'm wrong  confused.gif

Looks to me that the shooting mechanics are taken straight out of red dead, and seeing that at that exact moment that you are referencing the narrator is assuring the viewers that rockstar has updated mechanics I think it's safe to say we have nothing to worry about.

I will be really dissapointed if we can't have Auto Aim.

"For GTA V, we've split targeting out into three distinct modes: assisted aiming, traditional GTA, and free aim. Assisted aiming gives players a larger targeting area as well as a little more help analyzing targets to try and pick the largest threat.

Traditional GTA is the closest to previous GTA's soft lock option. It shares all the characteristics of assisted aiming, with the additional ability to flick left and right between targets using the right stick.

Another new refinement is that every aim mode now has a timer that breaks lock so you have to be more tactical in your approach - you can no longer just rely on holding and shooting until a target is dead.

We've also added other assists to free aim for each of those modes, including help with reticule speeds near targets. We've also spent time making sure the camera movement is smooth so you aren't disorientated by choosing between targets in the heat of a battle. Both of these work in tandem to make the shooting feel fluid without you noticing there's any assistance at all.

In addition to the assisted modes, experienced shooter players should feel more comfortable than ever playing the entire game in free aim.

Why is that?

I'm glad there aren't any auto aim.

But you can probably change that in the options.

Thank You very Much for this precision.

Auto aim is classic and makes for rapid killing. I hope it's at least still an option.

Only small thing I don't like is the rectangular mini-map.

Most people on this forum knew the mini map was going to be rectangle going by what was said in the previews.

It looks like a checkered flag for a race.

I would like to also add that the driving is spectacular, in GTAIV they had to sacrifice a lot of things to make it feel right, now I think theyre going to give us a nice blend of speed and handling. In GTAIV you would have fish tailed and spun out. After 5 years I'm confident its much much more efficient.

I noticed we briefly got a glimpse of Michael & Franklin's Stats at the time  monocle.gif

I just noticed after watching the video again that Trevor's stats are briefly shown as well:

Also anybody has an idea of what those 83 days in the bottom of the character wheel could stand for?

Just for those who didn't count: when they showed the GTA Online stuff, there were 15 characters, so don't get too excited for over 16.

We think it is:

- 83 Days since last logged into Multiplayer.

or some people think:

- 83 Days (from when the video was made) until the game comes out.... it is 69 days to release, as of today, meaning the video would've been made 14 days ago.

- 83 Days in-game since you last saw your character. (Can we even meet our MP character in SP?)

16 including the player character.

The same as GTA IV on consoles. (PC version had 32 player support)

But we seen the number "18" on screen. So there's at least 18 players maximum.
