It may not seem a big deal been late to work but to any boss good time keeping is always better. Personally I don't have a job myself but if I did I wouldn't put my work on hold just to watch it. Be grateful you even have a job a lot in the UK are after them. Doesn't matter if you have to make up the hours, you are bullsh*tting your boss & crying wolf is normally not a very good thing to do. I agree with a lot of your points. Some folk don't know how lucky they are and take things for granted. I suppose it's a easy thing to do. I remember being at college in my computing class and telling everyone to watch the trailer, and we convinced my teacher to.
