And at the time every one was calling it fake, IMO this forum has the worst untrusting people ever, when R* post a new screen you still have people screaming "its fake! If you have an inkling of knowledge in your head you would know that the screen is legit, but there were so many idiots saying "Nah, it's fake. Rockstar gotsta talk about it or else it's not real." I just asked, so maybe they can put it to rest. I thought this debate was put to rest a long time ago. I think it's pretty obvious that this screenshot is GTA V. But hopefully they will reply. Maybe. My guess is that R* wasn't sure if properties would make it so they just decided to preemptively lower peoples expectations, and then they found a way to fit properties in so they re-confirmed it. They could have literally no reason to call something fake, but they will continue to say so just because they don't want it to be true. It's f*cking sad... I remember last week when R* did the A&A, It was posted in the news section and I saw no fewer than 30 comments and people debating if it was fake or calling it a hoax and the op is a troll, made me launch when there is a link to R*s news wire, but people still doubt it! However, I do know for a fact that the preview that the gaming magazines have seen has been passed around ever since November. I have seen it with my own eyes. It does not have the area or time restrictions of a demo, but of course they did not hand out a CD with all missions on. I will never figure out whether somebody stole these or R* did not play the game to the gaming magazines themselves, but let them play it instead; handing out disks. It is far from surprising how people keep "guessing" story and gameplay elements (concerning the state of October/November). Some definitely have seen the game, as simple as it is. About the rest, I can only guess... Ever since the silence after the first trailer in 2011 (if I remember correctly, we already heard of and assumed the Albert de Silva leak to be fake) and definitely after the spring to fall delay, I have been wondering whether the leak was correct and R* felt like changing the characters and therefore probably re-doing a ton of work; instead of giving out their game like that. Must have been a tough decision, but would you want to print and sell a leaked GTA? If I remember correctly, Franklin was said to be Hispanic in that same leak; or at least in another one that followed?! I do remember many people arguing here because of that. About whether he is of Hispanic, African or mixed decent (this concerns the first trailer and the info-less phase after that). Ever since then, his appearance has changed and the arguments did disappear with that. Also, anybody remember the guys in the Bugstar jumpsuits coming out of the van in the first Trailer (0:46 sec) ? Michael was seen next to the passenger's door. A forum member of ours has maginified the screenshot and we saw that Franklin was driving. Two guys came out of the back of the van. One of them unknown, the other one, the members here suspected to be Jerry Kapowitz (he also was shown in the first trailer standing next to the freeway, begging for money). Count me in on that. So I'm curious to see whether we will actually meet him in the finished game. All of this does seem fishy to me, but that's just my 2 cents.
