A trailer is just a preview/advertisement. A trailer can use gameplay in it and still be more of a story based trailer, but a real gameplay trailer/video is from the perspective of the player so it actually looks like gameplay. Sums it up perfectly Instead of a load of gameplay stitched together for cinematic effect, we'll be seeing how the game works from our perspective, just as if we were playing.
