There will definitely be people not happy with the graphics. AA will be a topic, as will draw distance and pop in.

 

As long as its not blurry like IV I will be happy

Things could have improved if the footage is recent.

The latest preview says the game haves incredible Draw Distance and AA also. I just want to see how switching works

I feel pretty much the same though. At the moment it is only sending my hype into overdrive, I know I'm going to feel nothing but even more excitement tomorrow.

I am partly trying to convince myself, to be honest. lol.gif

 

It was easy to go "it's better to not watch gameplay because when you play for the first time and see it all for yourself, it will be amazing" when there was no actual gameplay to watch.

 

But now that they are giving us the first video tomorrow....most of us are not strong enough.

 

I don't think our bodies are truly ready for this.

 

My only consolation is that it seeing gameplay still won't beat finally having the game for yourself and being free to do as you wish with it.

I'm kind of edging towards it being the only one we'll get, if not then one of very few. I don't think we're going to get a series like with other R* games, it doesn't feel like it would suit GTA to show that much off. Don't get me wrong I'd watch them all in a heartbeat and probably enjoy every second, but at the end of the day R* doesn't need to sell this game to us and they've kept a lot back so far. It's really hard to figure them out.

It has to be about the "new parts" of the game, i.e. Character switching. Otherwise they wouldnt need gameplay footage, they're trying to assimilate us to the changes.

I am not sure but they did say it would be the first gameplay video so while it may not be a series like we saw with RDR or MP3 it will probably be something similar since they will probably avoid showing raw gameplay footage for an extended period of time.

 

I think the gameplay videos will be to show off the new features, like character switching just to settle peoples minds on how it will work.

 

We may even get to see some underwater gameplay?

This is different, because it's different times now.

 

1. Gaming industry has changed. A lot of things have changed in it.

 

2. GTA is no longer Number 1. COD has strengthened its positions and surpassed GTA in terms of sales

 

3. "Innovative marketing"

The GTA franchise has sold more units than CoD franchise.

 

The GTA franchise is on the fourth or fifth position of most units sold of all time.

 

The Final Fantasy franchise has still more units sold than CoD which FF goes after GTA

 

And finaly after Final Fantasy comes CoD. Between CoD and GTA are only a 10 million units in difference and with GTA V, the GTA franchise will be with a distance of 35 million more than CoD.

 

First place goes Mario Bros which the GTA franchise will never surpass but who cares.

Second, it's obvious that, in this case, total sales for the whole franchise don't matter. Sales of every separate COD game are more important.

 

It's obvious that COD is the most popular game at the present time. And that the last COD games, which were released after GTA IV, are the first games that have surpassed sales of the latest GTA game.

 

Now, there is another MVP "player" on the market, COD, which sales for every released game are higher than sales of the latest GTA.

 

To involve "Mario", "Tetris", "Kinnect", etc., into discussion was not a smart move as well, because they are obviously different types of games

That's actually a really good point. Up until now it has always been one protag no matter which GTA it was. Things are different now.

They have to prove the change to the outside, and perhaps convince fans that are still on the fence that this is a step in the right direction. They've used some very bold statements to describe how ambitious this game is, they can't just put all their eggs in one basket and release it blindly and hope for the best as something like this can turn away fans. I'm more than ready for them to prove to me it's perfect cool.gif

Am I the only one that don't even really care about stuff like that? The graphics in IV were fine to me, if V was the same I wouldn't even care. I don't just sit around and look for stuff like AA problems and draw distance, athough pop ins are quite annoying.

As I said a couple of days ago, you can expect new previews. That's how CVG knew that something is coming.

 

And, it seems, that as usually Rockstar changed their plans. That's why CVG found themselves in an awkward position, because they announced it too early
