Blow your Cover freeze

I played GTA 4 all day with no issues. When I'm doing the "Blow your cover" mission, we enter the building and talk to the guys, then after the cut-scene it goes into a loading screen and never leaves.

 

I've tried running the game as administrator (same result)

Running in Safe Mode produces some kind of video memory crash (I have a GTX 660)

Cleaned the disk

 

I AM using IceEnhancer, but haven't had any problems from it.

 

Any ideas?

Try to lower the graphics as much as possible. Even so, if that doesn't work, my best guess would be to remove IceEnhancer. I'm not completely sure, but I can tell that the mod might be the problem, even if you say that you had no issues with it. Other than that, make sure you have the GTA IV Patch 1.0.7.0 installed, and turn off VSync in the Graphics menu. Try as well to run the game in Windows 2000 Compatibility mode or any other Compatibility mode, or even run it as Administrator.

 

Besides, where do you have the game from? Are you using any cracks? Do you play with the original DVD in your Drive?

Well, I couldn't remove the mods so I had to re-install the game. Now it's making me start over. I logged into Rockstar Social and Windows Live. Surely my saves got backed up......right.......right???

 

I still see my user folder under savegames in local.
