Curtis
Is the GTA 2 City forgotten? many people don't talk about it or even know it.
GTAKid667
I think so... After all, if it was remembered, you would hear more about it Meet the GTA 3 players who've spent a decade playing pass-the-pad to 100% the game | GamesRadar
Voit Turyv
I think yes, mainly because of the fact it hasn't been converted or extended into 3D form.
Xegethra
Also, many people have started with GTA after GTA 2....and sadly have no interest in these older games....but of course, a lot of people do so it's not so bad. I'd love a return to Anywhere City....another retro futuristic cyberpunk GTA could be quite good. It could be a side mini series or something....or the next universe they explore....but they seem to be concerned with more realistic things and satire more than anything.... RMN
I've just downloaded it yesterday. I will play it and talk
Blastoise1994
I actually downloaded it not too far back and I think it'd be fun to import the map into a III era game, smooth it out add some modern era cars and a modern era storyline... It IS 2013, the setting of the game, after all. To add onto that, I think the closest thing to a modern Anywhere City is probably Manhunt's Carcer City, but at the same time I'd like to keep them seperate entities, now that, as the fans, we're pmuch free to change continuity as we please now that Rockstar has moved onto a new timeline. I see Carcer as being Chicago or Detroit and Anywhere as being possibly Atlanta or Washington state, maybe somewhere off in the midwest or even Canada considering we haven't really been there yet. (Keep in mind I haven't played extensively, only the "free play" type mode.)
Xegethra
I dunno about making it modern, it is a futuristic city...well, retro futuristic. I think too many places are based on real places these days....while it is fun, I think cities with more fiction to them are more fun.
Ss4gogeta0
well someone converted it to SA a while back and i have been working on it slowly trying to atleast make it playable (has collision and path problems... ) but yea, other than that. its pretty much forgotten
Lock n' Stock
Yeah, Anywhere City has not been mentioned in any other game as far as I'm concerned, probably because of it's lazy name. I agree with Xegethra, I'd love to see it return in a futuristic cyberpunk-style GTA game.
GoldenBlade
Many people have never even heard of Anywhere City, so I guess it is rather forgotten.
GTAKid667
I think yes, mainly because of the fact it hasn't been converted or extended into 3D form. I htink this is a very good point to take into mind, if it wasn't forgotten Rockstar Games would have placed it in one of the 3D era Games Meet the GTA 3 players who've spent a decade playing pass-the-pad to 100% the game | GamesRadar
Pyrrhus
It would would be cool to see a re-imagined Anywhere City as the setting of a standalone downloadable game on GTAV's engine ala Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.

That sounds pretty cool but the likeliness of that happening is very low, especially considering the city has only been present once, in GTA2 Meet the GTA 3 players who've spent a decade playing pass-the-pad to 100% the game | GamesRadar

Habbrow94
I have been playing GTA2 recently and I am enjoying it. Its very simple and fun. Someone should mod it into a better more updated engine and release it on the web. That's what I would do if I had good scripting knowledge. Kalvin
I am working on remodelling the GTA2 map for Vice City, not in HQ though (like IV), but more like the building quality of GTA3, GTAVC, etc. Although, knowing me I'm most likely just gonna stop working on it at one point and try to think of something else to do.. It would be nice though if someone could finish a project like this. What with do your own mission around people could even re create the missions. I guess no-one has enough heart for it, well those with the skills to do it anyway.
