inf1425
So I copy pasted the GTA SA install to a second computer, and my controller works just fine there. On a third computer, only the left analog stick works to move CJ around, and other controls do not work. I am guessing the second computer has a version of a dll that allows it to work? Still a weird issue though. Maziar
Silent
It could be missing DirectX End User Runtimes indeed. GInput still relies on them. Maziar
inf1425
I tried installing the runtime but it said that there was already a newer version on my computer and refused to install anything. Would it work if I just download the required DLLs and put them into my game folder? EDIT: I used the offline DX setup and while that one did install some runtimes, GInput still does not work. EDIT 2: I copied all the 32-bit XInput DLLs (xinput9_1_0.dll, xinput1_1.dll, xinput1_2.dll, xinput1_3.dll) to the game folder, and GInput still does not work. The weird thing is that the game is loading the xinput1_3.dll according to process explorer. Edited November 20, 2021 by inf1425

OrdinaryPlayer
Hi I have a question about Ginput SA. Currently I play GTA SA and use XBOX controller which is working great. But there is one thing that is kinda missing from this mod, that is rebinding the keys feature. Can anyone tell me how to remapping the key for xbox ? I just wanna change the handbrake to be RB that it. Edited November 29, 2021 by OrdinaryPlayer
NCONiall
Hi, On PS2 we had pressure-sensitive buttons which meant that you could choose to lightly accelerate instead of proper booting it. Has this feature been restored for supporting controllers? I have a DS3 controller using SCP, and I've put x_input1_3.dll in my main directory (I used the one in x64 as x86 caused Vice City to crash). I see there's an option to either increase or decrease the sensitivity but the car accelerates at full speed regardless of how much I'm depressing the X button. If it's not a native feature, is there anyway to enable this without remapping acceleration to an axis? Or is the code for 'light acceleration' gone in the PC version? Marsi4eg
You have to use certain SCP driver version 1.2.0.160 (with optional update to 1.2.2.175) It's known that pressure sensitive in Ginput may not work in modern SCP drivers (possibly the crash you had). And of course you will need to place x86 xinput1_3.dll to game folder then. And also make sure that your DS3 is a genuine one. I had one fake DS2 that looked like genuine, but it didn't have pressure-sensitive buttons, cars accelerated at full speed everytime even on PS2 Edited December 9, 2021 by Marsi4eg NCONiall

For anyone with a similar problem, and can't find the correct SCP version (their github only goes back to 1.3), I've used the working version here. Silent
The most up to date DS3 driver, DsHidMini, has also recently added support for the same API extension and it's been confirmed to work with GInput. You just need to drop DsHIdMini's xinput1_3.dll into the game directory. NCONiall and LaDiDa
ChiroVette
Hey all, I posted this in the GTA III section of the Mods forum here, but I should probably cross-post it here as well. Okay, I finally got GTA III working on my brand new laptop (lol again!) but now I am getting a GInput error after copying both GInput.asi and GInput.ini to the root directory. See screenshot below. Any ideas? Thanks! Hey at least I got this far.

This is what I get for reading HALF the instructions! lol In my defense, I am completely burnt out on the amount of time I have spent getting The Trilogy games to work, and work without having the Play discs in a drive. I spent more time doing this for these three games than everything else I have done on my new laptop lol combined! Anyway, yes, you're right! So I copied the Models Directory into the main game directory of III, which seems to have merged the two folders into one Models folder, and I checked to make sure the three files were in there, which they were. Now, however, the game doesn't see to be responding to the mod. I tried deleting my .set file from the GTAIII User Files in my Documents folder, but the game works, and works fine now, but the mod seems to have no effect as my XBox one controller only responds the way my old 360 controller used to with no mods or without using XPadder, which I used to use all the time. Note that San Andreas and Vice City both work with GInput on the same lappie. Edit: okay, rebooted my computer and it seems to be working now, thanks for correcting my idiot mistake! ChiroVette
Okay, putting this in a separate post, only because it's a new problem, albeit a very minor one I can adjust to. For some reason, I only seem to have two camera angles. The default, close in angle and the top down view. I actually always prefer the camera to be moved out just a little, while still in first person. Although, now that I think about it, I suspect that this may not have anything to do with GInput, and it may actually be related to the Silent Patch? Because it isn't just on the XBox One Controller that this happens, it also occurs when I get "C" or "Home" on the keyboard, so I may need to look elsewhere than in a GInput thread. That said, if I have to get used to this, I will.
Marsi4eg
Ginput doesn't change camera modes, neither does SilentPatch. You have to look for some other mod you have installed that broke your camera modes.

S4NDR01D
I would like to know if there are any ways to change the buttons, because drifting on the xbox360 gamepad is difficult. Just can’t turn the camera, because acceleration is on RT, nitro on B and handbrake on A, but I don’t understand how to turn the right stick, I don’t have enough fingers lol. My problem is that other emulators don't work for me, SAMP doesn't support steam version of SA, and everything is very bad. Azure Blue
Could someone confirm if in III/VC of ps2 it was common that the sensitivity of manual aim analogs was so high? I play with a DS3 and seriously, the first person view moves so fast that it looks like they specially designed manual aiming weapons like the M16/M4 to destroy vehicles and not peds (if it wasn't for the rampages that force you to kill with these). How is it that in San Andreas the camera moves slower and this problem doesn't occur with the manual aiming?
Jigzat
I'm attempting to use it again with DsHidMini and I used Scarlet.Crushe's xinput1_3.dll version 1.2.2.175 and my dualshock3 goes crazy after starting the game. Has anyone experience the same? Is it an issue with my xinput or DsHidMini or a bad instalation from my part? UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes it works, it is WORKING!!!!!!!! use DSHIDMINI, and very important use the XInput1_3.dll included in DSHMINI, make sure to use the correct one x86 or x64. Not at the moment unfortunately, Sixaxis in SCP was literally a hack (GInput hooked into the custom DLL), and DsHidMini does not support it "officially" yet. WarNikolai
I have been using this mod a lot and its really helpful. I just find it lacking one thing in Vice City. When manually aiming, you have to press R1 and move the R joystick, which makes firing with circle very difficult. Could you make it that you can fire with L1? Everything is ok That only works for weapons that can only aim manually like snipers or the rocket launcher. For all other weapons that aim automatically you can aim manually with the R stick, but as I said, its very annoying to hold R1, move R stick and fire with circle. Having alternate fire with L1 like in GTASA would be great. I have to add that in normal VC the crosshair is always there, so you are always aiming manually, so there is no problem. Im using the mod ClassicAxisVC which makes it like SA or PS2 VC, where you are not with a permanent corsshair, so to aim manually you have to press R1. Edit: If anyone is interested. The old version of classic axis VC actually has this alternate fire in L1 feature. Its the one that comes with the Definitive Edition Project. I did not know because I updated the mods that came with it, but the latest version of classic axis VC does NOT have it.
