skierpage Posted November 26, 2020 Share Posted November 26, 2020 I bought GTA:SA on Steam. It didn't work at all with my Logitech F310 gamepad in XInput mode, so I installed GInput. Now it works! But, 1) I don't see the friendlier joypad buttons in prompts, they're still just JOY2, JOY4. 2) I set [Pad1] to ControlsSet=2 in GInputSA.ini and it doesn't take effect, I'm getting the PS2-style mapping with A to accelerate a car. Any suggestions? How can I debug this? The only weirdness in my setup is I installed ScpToolkit to try to get my PS3 DualShock to work in another game before I gave up and bought the F310. I don't have the DualShock 3 plugged in and Windows 10's "Set up Game Controllers" only shows "Gamepad F310", but should I uninstall ScpToolkit anyway? Many, many thanks. lobranco Posted November 27, 2020 Share Posted November 27, 2020 (edited) Playing Vice City, when i use the control scheme 1, i can shoot with the circle button without problems, but when i try to use the control scheme 5, everything works except shooting, i press R2 to shoot and nothing happens :/. Why may that be? Edit: Forgot to mention that R2 is working normally when driving. I didn't know Steam wasn't version 1.0, gta-sa.exe's Properties > Details File version and Product version are both blank. You should make your announcement more explicit. E.g. change Quote GTA SA 1.0 (all versions) to GTA SA 1.0 (all versions) Note GTA SA purchased on Steam is not version 1.0, you'll need to downgrade it. Also, the combination of silent_asi_loader, GInputSA, SilentPatch, and SA DOWNGRADE meant my save game wasn't compatible (probably the last one), gta_sa.exe would crash after loading it. I installed GTA SA Savegame Editor and Java, loaded my save game, switched to version 1.00 Unmodified EXE plus Script version 1, Current IPL version 1, Convert to IPL version 1, saved that to a new slot... and it loaded . It looks like this: Unhandled exception: c0000005 At address: 5a6178db Any ideas? EDIT: It was because I had GInput in the mss folder rather than the script folder. Have Ginput.asi and .ini in the game directory but it doesn't do anything. Have tried putting it in the modloader directory and nothing happens. Big Box Posted January 6, 2021 Share Posted January 6, 2021 Are there going to be issues when playing GTA III/VC with regular controls instead of classic controls but with the GTA IV control scheme? I think I prefer the standard controls with the GTA IV control scheme since it's closer to SA and IV but I'm worried it may have issues. Not PS4/5 (only supports xinput, it doesn't add support for new controllers). But x360ce.com can do that for you. Just follow the instructions there. For PS4 and PS5 you'll have to run the controllers through something like Steam Interface, but yes this works with newer Xbox controllers, in fact I've even done textures for them! Storm 3000 Posted January 25, 2021 Share Posted January 25, 2021 I'm using GInput on GTA: Vice City and the end credits plays very slow, making the roll credits a lot longer than what it should. I've been trying erasing all the different mods I have and I found out that GInput is the one causing this issue. If I delete the .asi file or disable it from the .ini options, the end credits will play just fine. I tried changing different configurations and I'couldn't fix it. But i'm having a problem. im on gta sa 1.0, using a DS4 with DS4windows thingy and the mod, everything works fine, but. the game when i press the O or i fire arm, crash with a car, the game mutes. and the only way to fix it its by turning the volume up. but if i crash/do that stuff the game mutes itself for some reason. Because you can't skip the credits once you finish the game, so the credits will still rolling for like 20 minutes or more instead of the original 5 minutes. If you want to keep playing after the ending to recover all the treasures or something like that, it turns really annoying to wait so much time. If you could fix it, that would be great.
