I have one more issue with SA - when I think about going through securom sh*t or a completely different from the others Steam EXE (though it's not as bad as securomed EXEs as nothing is encrypted, like in compact) again, I wanna throw :p

Nobody cares about steam and securomed exes. v1.0 ftw. Also, there's three different ID limit adjusters in development, so having two different GInput's isn't weird at all. :)

You'd be surprised. Lots of people still praise HOODLUM EXE, and most Steam users use 3.0.

MTA/possibly SA:MP even don't work with original addresses for SecuROM'd functions, so yeah.

I don't praise it, but it's what most old mods were made for.

Adding them or not makes no difference for me since I have to manually add the remaining 55 cheats anyway. BOOOOOORING.

I was having issues with manually aiming in the game on my controller. For some reason the controls would invert whenever I moved the crosshairs up and down. Looks like this mod is just I what I needed to fix that problem and more. Thanks a Lot!

A minor update, I found how to cycle through player's MP3s via script in III so I'm going to add another IV feature to GInput, now radio stations will change when the button is RELEASED (like in SA/IV) and holding It when MP3 Player is active will cycle through user tracks :)

 

Hope it's that easy in VC too.

So you're saying you're NOT going to waste all your time working on it and release it for completely personal use only and in no way at all to be snatched and used for anyone elses projects or such things, because we would never do that Silent.

Yes Silent, I too think you should work on this, this is very important task, we need Stories style camera in VC, it's an urgent matter, I just want to experience that in my game, not like we'll use it anywhere else.

To sprint on a bicycle, rape the right analogue stick by pushing it and quickly releasing.

 

PS. It conflicts with camera control.

PS2. It doesn't work. We never tested it l0l

What resolution are you using while writing this ASI? I know you have a LCD monitor, and when using resolutions such as, 1920x1080. The LCD poor sub-pixel structure can cause the contrast ratio to shift to incorrect values causing incorrect colors. You could possibly be missing errors due to slightly incorrect colors, just a thought. You could probably fix it by switching your fonts? Which brings me to my next question? What font are you coding with? You want to be using a font with correct spacing. Often aspect ratio's are off due to windows lack of a widescreen fix :p You may think you're in 16:9 widesceen when using resolutions 1024×576, 1152×648, 1280×720, 1366×768, 1600×900, 1920×1080, 2560×1440 and 3840×2160 but if you look, most of the time things such as, font, are spaced wrong. I apperciate 1.777777777777778 but its a repeating variable meaning we can never accurately get proper widescreen.

That is until silent writes windowswidescreenfix.asi ;)

I have a bit of a contrary with a SA version. I don't want Deji's mod to lose popularity because it was an inspiration for this mod (hence an identical name) and deprecating his mod would be kinda a bastard move. On the other hand, I have an idea regarding GInputSA which would benefit both of and the users, but I think it could also bring lots of hate on me :p I dunno, really.

I somehow missed this discussion, but if he wants his mod to remain popular then he should update it. Your ASI loader for example pretty much became THE asi loader to use and you don't see anyone caring you made the old obsollete ones that only supported 1.0 US useless.

 

Also I hope the title will be [REL|III,VC,SA|ASI] GInput one day like SilentPatch :D

Hmm, I borrowed User Tracks control keys from IV (btw. they work when using a keyboard too :)), should I also go a bit further and add a key (holding Change Camera) to launch a replay?

Yeah, I guess, holding Select will be just it.

P.S. Just thought. Is it theoretically possible to place PlayStation/Xbox switcher and layout preset selector into in-game menus?

III/VC menumanagers are a mess, I'm not gonna touch them in GInput.

 

Edit:

I'll do a replay toggle from pad then, I'll bound it to Change Camera key so it'll be Select in all sets, except of set 2, which changes cameras via DPad. I can't bind it to Select for all sets as set 2 uses it for changing radio stations, and this action has an use for button hold event already.

I love 1.03 so much now! It got a lot of tiny changes which improve the game's responsiveness. For example, now I improved map menu in VC so analog stick is actually analog when moving the map, rather than being 0/1. I also remapped zoom controls to triggers so this action is pressure sensitive too. Same applies to Stats menu, where scrolling via the analog stick IS analogue now.

 

I'll release 1.03 for III/VC shortly after my connection is back.

 

EDIT:

Oh, and now overall menu controls are unified, means that both in VC and in III you go back by pressing Circle/B (menus like the Ammunation mod are untouched due to the fact I wouldn't be able to fix their helps), and Start button behaviour is now identical between games.

Hi Silent, I need your help. I have GTA:VC from Kolekcja Klasyki and I wanted to use my xbox's pad to play. I downloaded the newest version of you mod, however my VC crashes just after I skip the intro.

 

I don't know, which version of VC I have - I tried to install patch 1.1, but the installer said, that there is an "unknown version" of the exe file.

 

I put all the files in their folders (in root and mss folder, just to check if it helps), but just after intro there is some kind of a pop-up sound, Vice City-styled mouse cursor appears, and the menu in the background gets darker. I can't move the mouse or do anything, only Alt-F4 helps. Then Windows shows a window, that VC stopped working.

 

Without the mod everything works fine.

 

Could you please help me?
