James K
Hey guys, I just recently played Mafia 2. I think these are 2 things V could take from Mafia 2: -Working wipers -When you just robbed a store and you come back like 5 minutes later, the pigs will be around. When the clerk in the store sees you, he/she will shout to the police that it was you

RoadRunner71
- 1 star just a fine/bribe. - I liked that if you shot a shop assistant the police would tape the area. - I don't know how will the melee combats be this time, but Mafia 2 ones were far better than in IV. Grand Theft Savage
Just the robbing of the stores and the car customization. That was really good. Other than that, I don't anything from Mafia II to be in GTA V.

jackjenkins
I liked the speed limiter device, came in handy when you had to follow someone and you couldn't get to close. Also liked that the seasons changed throughout the story. (Think this was mafia )
Racecarlock
Not jail, not traffic laws, and not fuel. Unless all 3 are completely optional, like me and bumpyjohnson suggest. It does have a fantastic environment that makes you feel like you're in 1960's new york, though. I just wish the city had more stuff to do other than robbing, missions, mayhem, drinking, customizing cars, and changing clothes. If you think that sounds big, BOGT lets you do all of that and also has parachutes and APCS and drug wars and bowling and air hockey and helicopters and bikes and clubs. The main story of mafia II really killed me though. The prison chapter alone made the game suck, but then the next chapter has you driving drunk guys home with the radio stuck on one station while they sing along. Then it follows it up with that insipid cigarette color matching game. It's like mafia II was actively trying to not entertain me.
ill-thoughts
Mafia 2 lacked alot of things that the Godfather series had: turf wars, taking rackets, hiring goons, eliminating families and made men, hitman missions, favors, customizing your crew, etc.....and when i played the game, i got bored with it in a week. it was good but it didnt last long at all. Godfather 2 was a much better title.
Ash_735
Bribing the police was awesome, I abused the hell out of that when robbing stores or stealing cars. Such a simple yet brilliant feature when you can't be bothered with the police and something to actually use the money on!
twistedweather
it was good but it didnt last long at all ^^werd^^ It felt VERY short and imo not alot of replay ability. Felt like they should have expanded on some parts of the story. Its a good period game. Havent played The Godfather yet, debating on starting with the original or sequel. Nothing to do in 3 different f*cking maps. Mafia II had the same problem. The free roaming in both games just sucked.
Vagos MC
1. A reasonable speed limit and if you don't abide by the speed limit, you get pulled over and fined. Quite a cool feature. 2. Customizing the car yourself. Would be cool if you could actually pimp it up by the way you want it pimped up. I hate how you go in the GTA body-spray and the car/bike comes out a color you don't want.

UncleVlad
Kicking the door open was awesome! Yeah, this definitely needs to return. I was bothered that when you tried to rob a store in IV, Niko would just walk into the door like a retard.

It would also be good getting a little chase by the cops, and most importantly, it would improve your driving skills. If you go on GTA and play races, you will see other people driving terrible. Driving under a limit would adjust their speed, more controlable aswell on the road, especially off-road. I imagine on the new GTA, there will be mountains and forests, driving at a reasonable speed would prevent them from hitting stuff like trees and boulders, etc.

IDredMan
I saw the title, closed the tab. Went to history, re-opened the tab. Clicked the thread simply to post that useless comment to let people know of my disagreeance. Realized that I probably need to type in some not-useless phrases so this wouldn't get removed. Thought of one as I was typing this. I think 'Extreme realism over f*cking everything!' should stick to Mafia, Hollywood-realism should stick to GTA, and over-the-top madness should stick to Saints Row. Each series has it's own fans and no fan of one series should force his preferences onto another game.

I imagine on the new GTA, there will be mountains and forests, driving at a reasonable speed would prevent them from hitting stuff like trees and boulders, etc. I don't play GTA to drive carefully. One of the main attractions of GTA is that I get to speed and smash up a car with barely any consequences. You know who agrees with me on that? Rockstar Games. "Back in the BMG office, Sam and the others booted up Race 'n' Chase. There was just one problem: the game kind of sucked." "Senior producer Gary Penn—a former journalist with a streak of Johnny Rotten and a taste for bright green socks—felt dejected. “This is a f*cking simulation,” he said, bemoaning the game's “stupid details.” Up in Dundee at DMA, the developers were starting to agree. By casting the player as the cop, they realized, they had cut out the fun. Some dismissed it as Sims Driving Instructor. When an unruly gamer tried to drive his police car on the sidewalk or through traffic lights, a persnickety programmer reminded him that the stop lights needed to be obeyed. Were they building a video game or a train set? Even worse, the pedestrians milling around the game created frustrating obstacles. It was almost impossible to drive fast without taking people down, and, because the player was a cop, he had to be punished for hit-and-runs. Race 'n' Chase hit a road block. There was just no way to have a fast and furious arcade-style game while playing by the rules. The DMAers stared at the screen, as the cars and the people raced around. Maybe there was another solution, they realized. Instead of having to avoid all of the pedestrians, what if you got points for running them over? What if you were the bad guy instead?" Yes, I will keep using that quote until people get it through their heads that there will NEVER be speeding laws in GTA.
