BloodMC
Car customization was always fun in San Andreas, but it never felt central to the storyline at all. With R* finally including businesses AND car customization in one title I believe in the possibility of owning our own shop (Most likely through Franklin as he is the repo man and the best driver). Now, car customizations could come on the cheap and be central to heists in acquiring vehicles and upgrading suspension, engin, etc. for specific jobs (think the Itialian Job and the Mini Coopers). Now for the interesting part: With businesses having "other benefits" as posted by R* in a reply to a tweet, not only could you purchase parts for your vehicles, but maybe the shop you own doubles as a chop shop and certain parts must be taken from vehicles you relieved their owners of. So, if money is central to this GTA, unlike the previous titles where cash became meaningless (see GTA Forum's "For the Love of Money"), maybe the cost is too high and just stealing a street racers ride to get the more exotic parts is required. Chop shops have made appearances in the past (specifically remember in GTAIII the guy with the BF Injection), but the player has never owned one. Including it in adds another level of depth to the storyline having to unlock some of the more exotic parts and "realness" of the price that those parts cost if bought (draining your cash as well) other than finding more elicit ways of obtaining hardware. Xayias
The gtavoclock' podcast said something in the lines of R* wanting to probably close the bridge between just stealing cars to get around and dumping them. They want you to have your own car, to spend time customizing and one that will finish the job of what ever heist your doing.
Getzmunney
I just hope they make you feel like a boss when you own places.. And treat you with respect.
Input
I would like this. It really motivates you to actually go out and steal a car for more than a quick ride through town.

I always wanted to ''own'' a car and always use it in IV. Which isn't really possible in previous GTAs.

Thanks, and I completely agree with you. Even if a car doesn't have any parts you need on it, keeping a vehicle in good condition and turning it in could be a good revenue stream... Would make me want to try a bunch of vehicles and see what kind of profit the player could make stripping them.
K.Walters
If they want the car to be yours and avoid you taking a car, smashing it and taking another one 10 seconds later they should make it so if you do a slightest modification to your car it won`t despawn unless destroyed, in water or flipped on roof. Like if I park my 30 000$ Buffalo in a parking spot I want to take it for a ride after a big mission on the other side of the map. I want it to still be there when I get back! We also know that there will be some sort of garage in multiplayer given some of the pre-order bonuses so, it will be pretty cool.

In GTA IV I tried to make it work (having an 'own' car) and kept a black Sabre GT in front of the South Bohan apartment, used it for dates, driving around, killing hookers - the usual stuff. The son-of-a-bitch freaking disappeared because of that annoying bug that causes your cars to move outside of your parking spot. It pissed me off quite a bit
