Has any areas actually been confirmed? How can anyone say for certain that this and that area wont be in the game? We haven't even seen the whole map yet and Rockstar haven't told us much about these areas yet.

Long beach - Confirmed What the f*ck are you smoking? The port of Los Angeles confirmed = Long Beach. It's actually The Port of Long Beach... and just because the Port of Long Beach is in the game doesn't mean Long Beach itself is in. Look at the blueprint. No Long Beach to be seen, just the port. Now what about Compton? But haven't even seen the entire map yet ? That blueprint only showed us parts of Los Santos, anyone who believes we saw the entire Los Santos on that blueprint must be high on crack or something. MightyMax
Bel Air (sometimes incorrectly hyphenated as Bel-Air) is a small, affluent residential community in the hills of the Westside of the city of Los Angeles, California. Together with Beverly Hills and Holmby Hills it forms the Platinum Triangle of Los Angeles neighborhoods. Bel Air is situated about 12 miles (19 km) west of downtown Los Angeles and includes some of the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains. It borders the north side of UCLA along Sunset Boulevard. At the heart of the community sits the Bel-Air Country Club and the Hotel Bel-Air. The community was founded in 1923 by Alphonzo E. Bell, Sr. It is bordered by Brentwood on the west and southwest, Westwood on the south, Beverly Hills Post Office on the east, and Sherman Oaks on the north. The Bel Air Association has been operational since 1942, dedicated to preserving the aesthetic appearance of the residential community. The Bel Air Association is located at the entrance of the East Gate of Bel Air at 100 Bel Air Road. Residences in Bel Air tend to be hidden from the winding roads of the community. Residences range from relatively modest ranch-style houses, to large mansions. In general, the higher up the mountain, the smaller the building lots, and more modest the houses. Multi-family housing is not permitted and ordinances regarding architectural styles and lot sizes help to preserve the area. I believe Bel Air be on GTA V in the game! Special Members
I expect Compton to be in. Santa Monica will probably be in, counting on the pier, and some buildings we have seen. And Beverly Hills is obviously confirmed. Long Beach could be in, maybe the small part between the port and that large, white landmass. I guess we will see after September 17th. Also, here are the cities of LA county and what they where called in San Andreas: East Los Angeles-East Los Santos Long Beach-East Beach Compton-Ganton Inglewood-Idlewood Santa Monica-Santa Maria North Hollywood-Temple West Hollywood-Market Beverly Hills-Rodeo

Magic_Al
GTA cities are best thought of as parodies of how cities are portrayed in the media. If a Los Angeles-area community is unknown in popular culture, it's probably not a priority for inclusion in the game. Or even if it is well known, there might not be room. Not to say that San Diego and LA are worlds apart, also most of the townships in GTA V are based on towns throughout Southern California or perhaps mishmash of such. The thing is San Diego and LA have very different vibes. The main focus of GTA V was the Hollywood life. Hollywood is in Los Angeles. This is what comes into my mind because it tells how Michael was living the Hollywood life after that North Yankton Heist while in contrast, Trevor was living in a sh*thole of a town just beyond the hills. In a parallel perspective, Franklin was also planning to move out of his ghetto on the same side of the "hollywood hill" as Michael to get closer to the Hollywood life. Sure, they could pull it off with some of the protagonists living in San Diego, but San Diego is not the shady sibling of Hollywood, South Los Angeles is. It also doesn't seem to fit Trevor's trashy, yet basics persona. Even if it's roughly the same distance as the towns Sandy Shores and Stab City are based on.
