universetwisters
We all know of Shoreside Vale, yea? You know how when you're going through the instruction manual, they say that Shoreside Vale is mainly suburban, right? However, when you do go there in-game, it's a ton of warehouses and industrial bits, almost as much as Portland. Sure, there's like seven or so houses in Cedar Grove and the housing projects of Witchita Gardens, but you'd expect there to be more houses there rather than warehouses, wouldn't you? This was natural to me. Mainly due to the fact that in Ukraine the "suburbs" are associated with industrial estates located on the outskirts of town, with several houses for people to live in - and that is much different from the meaning this word has in GB, USA and other English-speaking countries. Right, and in America, a suburb is an area on the outskirts of a city that has a bunch of houses. Yet, there are only about seven or so houses in Shoreside Vale. You've got to take into consideration though that Rockstar weren't aiming for a huge city or anything, if the suburbs were too big anyway it would simply seem like a boring area. Plus, if you were to take the entire housing thing into consideration you would have somthing like 1,000,000+ people per square mile in LC... Which is even bigger than most Asian capital cities. They could've at least swapped the warehouses in Pike Creek for houses. Not huge houses like the ones at Cedar Grove, but maybe modest two-story houses. Nothing to big, probably something like this: Dblcut3
Dingleman
Meh. My biggest mystery is how a city with 7 houses and half a dozen project/apartment blocks areas can supposedly accommodate 4 million people.

Kalvin
Well, I've just always thought that because it was planned that Shoreside Vale would be way more bigger than it is now. Shine o' Vice | Vice City BETA Edition | Grand Theft Auto 3D
GTAKid667
^ I don't know... Personally, I never paid attention but it doesn't bother me anyway. Shoreside Vale is what it is and nothing will ever change that! grosso2626
I find myself there the least. I always get lost. It's a cool island, but I'd rather harass the Mafia with my BP Patriot or attract the army in my free time between missions.

HOW'S ANNIE?
^ Agreed, the raod layout is such a pain to navigate. Would have been much more convinient to have a bridge to connect Pike Creek with Wichita Gardens.
GTAKid667
^ Well you can use the Porter Tunnel or that long stretch of road a bit further up (that contains the Colombian Cartel Mansion on). chapapote
It's weird how Portland is supposed to be the industrial area of the city, but it just has Trenton and the docks (and maybe one or two here and there, like the Triad factory). About the same number of industries than Shoreside Vale, and definitely more houses. Edited July 6, 2013 by chapapote
Xegethra
Meh. My biggest mystery is how a city with 7 houses and half a dozen project/apartment blocks areas can supposedly accommodate 4 million people. I like to think that a lot of the cities population resides behind the hills where the tunnels "go" Liberty Cities main bank is situated behind there, so I imagine there is another huge city area similar to Staunton Island housing a lot of the population...maybe even containing another suburb with more houses. But yeah, I agree...in the visible part of the city the suburban area doesn't feel that suburban. There is a beta map out there, an ideas map if you will that plans to make it more suburban....but of course they didn't go with it and went with what we have now. Scroll down and you'll see the map there. I also puushed it http://gta.wikia.com/Beta_Releases http://puu.sh/3C4xN And here is a comparison of the maps I found lying around when I searched for beta maps http://puu.sh/3C4HH So maybe in the past, they planned for a more realistic suburban setting.
