redx165
But to buy copies for both the PS3 and 360 is a bit silly in my opinion, it's needless waste of money. Both versions are more than likely to identical. Thank You

DarrinPA
Funny story, I already did. The GameStop I preordered from closed down. When I went to the new store where my preorder had been transferred they stated they had no preorder for me. So I bought it twice plus the SE cost. Did you put money down at the store that closed? That would be a rip-off.
Input
I'm thinking of getting a Collectors Ed. and a normal, both for PS3. Just in case anything happens to one disk, I'll have an immediate backup.
CSM. HB J-DOGG
I'm only buying one copy, and that is the Special Edition for my PS3, as it's the only current-gen console I own. I can understand people buying one console copy and a copy for the PC later down the line once a PC version is released, due to modding and enhanced graphics etc. But to buy copies for both the PS3 and 360 is a bit silly in my opinion, it's needless waste of money. Both versions are more than likely to identical. I might get a PS4 version if one actually does come out and if there is an improvement in graphics. As I said one for me and one for my kids I have two systems so I will buy it for both We have 3 xbox 360 and two ps3
Chukkles
No, I only need one copy. If it comes to next gen it's not going to be a better game, so why would I buy it again. Before you say, next gen course it will be better, SA on download.

Just a waste of money and makes you look more stupid. Heck if you're giving it as a gift then that makes sense. But buying a CE for PS3 and PS3 bundle I can't say that's really a smart move. Unless you want a new PS3? You can pick it up at a cheaper price then with a bundle.

I'm not talking about a situation like that, in your case that is understandable, one for you and one for your kids. I'm talking about people who just buy two copies of GTA V for the 360 and PS3 just for themselves only.

BrunoLK
I'll do what I did with IV. 1) Buy the ps3 version 2) Wait for the PC version 3) Sell ps3 version and buy PC version

You can try to defend it all you want but it's stupid buying GTA V for both PS3 and 360. Next Gen ( If they change it ) and PC I understand. Now here's a question for you. Why buy both GTA V CE for PS3 and GTA V Bundle? Do you need a PS3? Do you want the headset? Do you want to give it as a gift?
Official General
it just sounds like none of you have a genuine love of video games if you can't understand someone owning two systems and getting the same game for both. Listen mate, I've been gaming a very long time, I've owned many consoles and I've played and completed all the main GTA games there is. I'm one of the biggest GTA fans you can ever get to meet. I've got nothing to prove to you or anyone else. But I definitely cannot understand buying the same game twice for two different consoles purely for your own use, when the two versions are gonna be more or less identical to each other. To you, it's a "genuine love" of consoles, to me it's a simple waste of money. But it's your money, waste it if you wish.

Should we compare Max Payne 3 again? It looked the same. So you pay $450 for the PS3 Version ( Assuming my math is right CE+Bundle ) and you pay $210 for the Xbox version ( CE+Live) All together that's $660 and that's not even with Tax. You can buy a controller that feels like a Xbox controller. I'm assuming it's the same for Xbox too. So you're buying another whole system for a friend? The thing is, people like him won't see this, they will just see it as themselves acting like dedicated, 'true' GTA fans, when in reality, they are just wasting their own money, pointlessly. I think those who do that are just getting a little too over-excited at getting the game. @ CallTheCororner You are talking about buying and selling multiple copies for cash profit. That is different, you are trying to make extra money, so that is understandable

How am I a moron? You still payed for Live which is why I counted that on the Xbox Version. When someone buys a Xbox game they can't play the whole thing without that $60 for live. So that will be counted while for the PS3 you get the full game at $60. Of course it won't make a difference. You can't change the mind of a stupid person. It's impossible. wwinterj
So we know it's coming to PS3 and Xbox 360 but if it eventually came to PC and next gen consoles would anyone buy it again? Nope it's pointless buying the same game twice. I'll buy it for the PS3 and that's it. It'll be several months after the launch of the PS4 that I buy a next gen console and GTA V(and other games) will fill the void until that time comes. When I do buy a PS4 chances are I'll have my PS3 still set up and put my 360 into storage. I always keep my old consoles for whenever I feel like playing some great games. At the moment I have my WII, 360 and PS3 connected to my TV. The WII just collects dust but it's so small it fits anywhere so that's fine set up. As for my 360 I just use it to stream videos from my PC at the moment as I find the 360 does this better than the PS3. However when the PS4 is out I assume that will do it better so my 360 can go into storage. My PS3 will take the place of my 360 under my TV with my PS4 taking the place of where my PS3 is at the side of my TV.

MORON You don't get to play the full game without Live. You can't play online. Since PS3 is free I can't count that but Live cost $60. You also said you'll be playing with friends so you NEED LIVE. All I see is you crying cause I'm proving points. Go cry more. When someone goes for name calling they lost cause that's the only thing they can think of. Lool, now this just sounds downright silly * Buying two different copies of the same game just to play with all your online friends. You must be some very special person you must be to these friends you speak of. I hope these friends appreciate the extra money you are spending just to play online with them. * Well it's more than likely the PS3 and 360 versions will be identical. I cannot see what significant difference there will be. Probably because one version has slightly more blades of grass, more leaves in the palm trees, different shaded bricks in the buildings etc. Minute stuff like this will also be a factor to you buying to both copies, I understand * Different controllers ? You are not serious. You just buy the version that uses the controller you find most comfortable. Quite simple. Okay, even if you like both the PS3 and 360 pads, that is still not a good enough reason to get both versions of the game. * Two people play online at the same time on both consoles ? You got too much time on your hands. You really need some real friends to socialize with than just having online friends to game with all the time.
