How Will GTA V Start?

-------------------------------------------------------- HOW WILL V START?--------------------------------------------------------------

So we know the characters, we know the basic idea of plot, we know it will center around heists, and we know that it has the potential to be better than Farming Simulator 2012.

So the question remains: You put in the disc, it finishes loading, the R* logo pops up, your heart races and then.......what? How will the game start? Will it start SA style with a traffic stop or Sopranos style with Michael talking to his therapist? Will it start with establishing shots of the city with music and credits, or will it drop you RIGHT into the action mid-heist.

How do you think it will start. What would you like to see?

I think it'll start with the mission describe in one of the previews, believe it went something like Michael and his wife had an argument, so to cool off Michael got on his bike and rode into the City or something about Michael riding his bike, haha.

Would be a usual GTA starter mission, would give you a good feel of the City, and our first glimpse of Michael.

Ambitious, okay. Better than Farming Simulator, i think not.

OT: You put in the disc, it finishes loading, the R* logo pops up, your heart races and then.......what?

the game freezes, yes i need a new xbox.

Really OT: this was covered in a preview afaik. Something to do with Michael in his house and then getting on the bike to go cycling.

Rockstar Logos then a GTA V Logo then you can select Character then you start with their intro. makes you play

the game 3 times to see all three intros.

I think that was the start of the demo showed to the press? Idk, maybe it IS the start of the whole game.

Agreed. I think Michael (and his back-story/family) will be the first person you meet, and you'll just be him for the first few mini-missions (like biking around as you mentioned, etc).

I think that therapist's office scene from the trailer is verrry early in the plot, I think it has potential to even be the first scene of the game. A therapist's office is a good excuse for developers to introduce Michael's past, and current problems to set the stage for the audience, as its things which would be discussed in a therapist's office.

I could see after the first cut-scene, having to bike (or drive) back to your house. It'd be a good chance to get a great first view of the glitzy, pretty side of L.S.

Yeah.. hmm..

Anyone remembers the scene in the trailer where michael sits on a bench and tells franklin where vespucci beach house is?

if not the start, that is probably early in the game, since it looks like the 2 dont know each other yet.

Back in the day when Michael worked with Trevor:

-Black Screen-

Michael: Are you ready?

-Rockstar Games presents-

Michael: Remember, no casualties

-A Rockstar North production-

Trevor: Oh I'm Ready

-The image appears as Michael puts on his mask slowly turning around the corner with his gun-

The Michael family going on a trip. Cutscene of everyone rushing and shouting at eachother to set the basic scene with the family, then everyone's eventually in the car. You get a feel of driving as Michael, then you hear kids arguing on the way. When you arrive, you learn to shoot in a target practice or laser tag type place, walk around and spend some money, then return home.

I like this. Learning the shooting mechanics against your family while playing paintball or lazer tag is brilliant! icon14.gif

This is actually a good idea. You have the power to choose how you want to start the game.

The only problem id have is actually choosing, now that's a really tough decision. I would have to flip a coin between Trevor and Michael confused.gif

Leafy Hollow

All three characters won't be available from the start IMO. You will see Michael sitting by his pool and then somehow slowly gets pull back into "the life" by getting a call from his local FIB.

It starts with that first mission with Michael having to ride his bike, presumably to meet up with James at the pleasure pier. After that you can swap to whom ever

This was all looking good until you said no casualties, seriously? This is a GTA game, if a protagonist says no kills, it's sacrilegious. If anything, Michael should say, "kill what you gotta kill, but only when necessary".

Not sure how it will start but i bet the first time we see trevor hell either be taking a sh*t or punching someone.

I think it will start out where Michael has to take his son to school, as well as some other family activities.

I don't think the character will know each other the first time you play as each of them, I think you start with micheal and his intro, maybe at the therapist's office saying the thing in trailer 1, then you are prompted to switch to frank who you go on the first mission with, and find micheal at the pier sitting on the bench in trailer 2 then finally Trevor who meets the other 2 guys when he is telling them he's new in town and making a lot of friends

I thought some people had already seen the start. As I recall, it was:

  • Michael argues with wife, leaves and rides bike around
  • Switch to Trevor, he's taking a dump, goes out and does something illegal, because Trevor
  • Switch to Franklin, he's stealing a car for the auto dealership place he works for

i think it will start with him arguing with amanda, yelling at his kids, and then he goes on a bike ride through the city to meet up with franklin and trevor.

I see it like this. It is black and "Rockstar Presents..." comes up on the screen. You start hearing a very faint sound of the ocean waves crashing into the beach over the sounds of the city sounds like car horns and crowds of people talking. Then very suddenly and pretty loud you hear Michael's voice "Why did I move here?" A few seconds of silence go by and you start hearing an airplane roar by as the screen shows a commercial airline fly towards Downtown Los Santos. During this intro movie, Michael is talking about the basics to his back story in the way he did in the first trailer, Starting a new life, trying to make a better life for his family and just starting over but running into a few small obstacles. As he says this, all new footage of different type of people and maybe other supporting characters are briefly shown. Giving the first aspect of how diverse the people are in this game. Images of gangsters, rednecks, The Lost, The Ballas, Crazies, IAA, Police and everyone who is a potential "Threat to you" is also kind of shown. Than the first cutscene starts with Michael and family in the airport and Michael is having a little argument with his wife over something and the two kids fighting of course and the first mission is basic movement and you have to walk over and put the bags you have in the trunk of your car and basically "Move" into your mansion.

I tried. xP

yeah i believe this to be true. i was one of the first previews if i remember. amanda takes the car, so michael is left with the bike and rides it into town..... i dont remember much more after that. but yeah, like this guy said, it would be a classic GTA start to the game.

Michael seems to be the "main" character of the 3, you probably play as him for a few short sun-missions before recieving a call from the FIB notifying him they want him to pull off a heist or something of the like for them, and you will need help. michael only trusts one person in the world at this time, which is when you meet trevor. a few missions later, michael has a therapist session, and while waiting outside, franklin comes out asking him where that beach house is (scene from trailer 2). this introduces the final character and thus you have all 3 protagonists.

I'm pretty sure the game will start with showing how boring Michael's life is, how broken his family is and how he just can't change that. Family missions will he the first thing I assume, like riding a bike with jimmy, taking his family to a restaurant, meeting his therapist. And then he gets a call from FIB.

It's gonna start with me blowing into the cartridge a few times before fumbling to shove it into the system, then grabbing the controller and staining it orange because my hands are covered in cheesy dust from a freshly devoured bag of Cheetos Paws. Then I'll plop down on the edge of my race car bed, biting my lip in anticipation and a nervous drop of sweat running down my back into my Spiderman undies (even though the elastic has long worn out and mom tells me to throw them away, I just couldn't forgive myself if I did so). And then, gentlemen, I will play the game. I will mash those buttons with my stubby little fingers until Uncle Sherman comes over and has a 'Nam flashback when he hears the violence in my video game, quickly diving behind the sofa and trying to fire blindly at Charlie with a lamp clasped in his hands. And then I'll come downstairs, satisfied with my gaming experience, and we'll all have a good laugh.

It will start with sparks of lightning and electricity around a truck, then a huge ball of light will be seen. As the light starts to dim, you see a man hunched over, naked. He then get's up and makes his way to a nearby pub where the local motorcycle gang (The Lost) hangs. The man enter's the pub, finds one of the member's of the Lost and sizes him up. He then ask's the gang member for his clothes, boots and motorcycle. The gang member refuse's and says to the man "you forgot to say please"... The gang member then put's out his cigar on the man's chest trying to intimidate him, only to find himself flying headfirst through a window. The rest of the gang try to attack the man but are all dealt with. The man finally takes the gang member's clothes and boots and makes his way to the motorcycle. Before making his way out, the bar owner threatens to shoot him with a shotgun. The man walks toward's the bar owner, snatches the shot gun off him, as well as a pair of sunglasses. The bar owner, let's him go. The man finally get's on the motorcycle, GTA's dynamic in-game music kicks in with "Bad To The Bone", and the man rides off. We then learn his name T-800, the T stands for Trevor. bored.gif

I think it will start just before the 3 of them do the first heist and then do some kind of "2 days earlier" type thing and then builds the story of how they all got to that point...
