98 in 1
i said this before and ill say it again, if i decide Not to buy GTA5, itll be for its lack of Venturas.....Rockstar has made enough LA games and im just tired of the turf at this point. i Personally wish they had made GTA5 a Las Venturas game only and made it as accurate to Vegas as possible with every casino enterable, every house enterable and tons of activities inside the city and surrounding it. Well then I guess you won't be buying the game because there is no Las Venturas.
GTA fan from the United Kingdom
To be honest, when I first found out that Los Santos would be the only city in V, I was disappointed. But when you look at some of the some of the screenshots, this is going to be an amazing map! We have detailed Los Santos, desert, countryside, filled with forests, rivers, lakes, mountains, and it should be a great place to explore wether youre on foot, bike, car or plane. R* has give us 3 characters, an enormous amount of new features and things to explore, can't you be greatful? San Andreas is and always will be a classic GTA game, but its time to move on now. There will be no San Fierro, no Las Venturas, or any other city. GET USED TO IT! Edited June 26, 2013 by GTA fan from the United Kingdom
Druffmaul
San Andreas came out in 2004 on an old system, the original XBOX and had 3 big cities. This game is almost ten years old, with a bigger map than gta 4 and looks like it'll be a smaller map than gta 5 too. FTFY
Deffpony
If once the game comes out it feels like one city didn't work then commence bitching but until then your plight is equally as justified as saying GTA V should have been Vice City, San Andreas, and Liberty City in one. Could it have been done? Yes. But they have a specific vision. If you want a game that doesn't take any risks and just re uses the same formula go play COD Edited June 26, 2013 by deffpony

GTAaLEX117
Sorry, I've had enough city for the last 5 years now. I want a mix of both. I hope you do realize that making 3 incredibly detailed cities as well as a vast countryside area would take substantially more development time, even if this is 2013. SlappyPwnsAss
Theres only gonna be one city and that is Los Santos... we also know theres gonna be a little town called Sandy Shores and i bet theres gonna be a few more small towns. Matt06
Haha this and, "so which edition of GTA V you gonna get?" I'm good with having only one city. Better one big, detailed place than different smaller, less detailed cities seperated by open space. Now we have a great city AND wide open space. Looking back on the SA map the cities seem kinda small, especially San Fierro. I know it's different actually being there, plus the road lines on the map are thick making it seem smaller but yeah I know R* will deliver. Los Santos HD FTW. Choco Taco
I just want a proper destination for the large aircraft. This is their "largest and most ambitious game" and it would be ridiculous to takeoff in a large airliner from LS airport and have nowhere to land except some small airstrip next to a farm considering San Andreas had 3 full airports. My main concern is that although it's bigger than SA, it might feel smaller. In SA, you could get the feeling that you were out in the middle of nowhere far away from the city. At this point, GTA V is sort of looking like Los Santos with a backyard to me. You'll probably be able to see the city from any point on the map. I'm hoping there's something more. Input
I'm happy there is only one city. The way I see it is now they will focus on just Los Santos and making it the most detailed city possible.

BostonBeatdown4
the next GTA should have the whole USA every city and town in the country and make it full size , if it doesn't I will be disappointed and will not buy.
ill-thoughts
im guessing at the north of the map will be a Santa Clarita and/or Palmcaster replica city....it would be odd to just throw a lake into all that mountain space and not put anything out there. brwhizz
Yes, it's not enough that Rockstar have created a big, hugely detailed city surrounded by a gorgeous and varied countryside and underwater locations, resulting in the largest map they've ever made - we need San Fierro and Las Venturas somehow crammed in there too, without affecting the quality of the storyline, graphics and gameplay of course. Give me a break OP!
ill-thoughts
Rockstar have created a big, hugely detailed city its not that big. if the limited edition map is correct, Los Santos is the size of Dukes and Bohan combined. im guessing the extra detail will go into sea floors and mountains/forests. It'll be big enough, and surely having to cram in two extra cities would mean compromises with the size of the cities - that ever occur to you? The detail will of course be everywhere, as it is in gta 4 and rdr. BTW, I have as much faith in the size-analysis topics on this forum as I do in the Ugandans ever making it to the moon. Los Santos definitely covers more square footage, just as the sprawling Los Angeles metro area does compared to New York City. But just like the real cities, if you’re wondering about the density of the downtown area, Los Santos proper is smaller than Liberty City

Magic_Al
Because HD games are much more detailed and require a lot more work. That is no excuse. Production teams are much bigger aswell and have much more resourcefull studious. If they grew that way it would feel like a bunch of different maps stitched together. The entire map is first roughed out by a much smaller team, then they divide into teams for each major area. Team growth from there is to create the layers of HD detail, not to create more areas. The world size can only grow as much as Rockstar North is comfortable expanding the size of the core teams.
