Chukkles
I can appreciate OPs idea that he played as a kid and he's fine, but like me I played as a kid when it was not HD graphics. I first played GTA1, hardly anything to influence anything other than swearing. Next came the cartoon graphics, here things are funny to see and again swearing. Now we're at HD where things look a lot more real, there's a chance for nudity, plenty of blood and again a sh*t ton of swearing. Up until now kids would have only picked up on the swearing and probably imitated it. Now though its a whole different kettle of fish and younger players should not really be allowed to play it. Irresponsible parenting.
golf wang
It depends how old they are. If they are around 11 or 12 or older, then it's fine. Anything younger than that is too young IMHO. Edited June 29, 2013 by golf wang
RSoha
GTA games are more graphic now than they were before so I won't allow it, don't think my girlfriend would either
RandyChimp
Not until I'm sure my kid's old enough to understand that it is satire, not serious. I started with GTA3 at 12 when my parents knew I was old enough to understand what I was playing. At the time, I was annoyed because I wasn't allowed to play this game that all of my friends were playing, but now, as an adult, I can understand what they were doing. So yeah, age restrictions have their place, but a parent should always know what their kid is playing and should always monitor their gaming. I don't think violent video games make people become violent though.
Red XIII
Although I played GTA when I was young I could get away with it because the visuals looked cartoony and fictional, but when I have kids the graphics will look hyper realistic and I don't think I would be ok with my kids playing it.
