While he'd certainly have proper accent when speaking serbian, still I doubt he knows the language and would probably say the same google translate stuff the current actor did. Rockstar always bases GTA's on movies and this guy (picture) was from Behind Enemy Lines where he played a Serb so Niko was probably set as a Serb even at that time. I might just see the movie one of these days to see how he did in that movie, perhaps he did learn a bit of serbian for the role. It wouldn't be too hard for a russian actor. He turned it down, and explains why here: I thought they are talking English, but after the first words, I thought there are at least some subtitles, but not even that. Don't understand anything at all, besides Niet. Nastrovje! The closed captions could translate it.
