What next for GTA?

So GTA V will be with us this year with much anticipation and hype, i'd like to look further however.

I'd love to know where people would like the next title to be set, not where you think it will be set but where do YOU WANT it to be set?

Liberty City ?

Vice City ?

More areas of San Andreas ?

Or a new City ?

I myself would like a return to Vice City, the colour, music and era are just perfect for the next generation in my opinion . I think it should be set in the 80's when Vice city ruled the GTA universe. 1987 might be a good year to set it in and totally redesigned the city like in IV.

(I am aware this thread has probably been discussed before I wanted to get up to date opinions on the subject).

If I can figure out i'll add a poll later.

So what do you guys think?

I wonder if they would manage to pull the whole 80's vibe off again considering how the next gen looks it could be a real vibrant location and it would really show off the updated graphics if they could get the formula just right.

Not Los Santos again, because GTA5 would have already had it.

Not Liberty City because it's overdone and needs a break.

That leaves Vice City.

Vice City Stories was more of a watered down Vice City than an improvement so there's plenty of room.

Plus, VCS isn't HD. An HD VC will be much more spectacular.

I doubt it'll increase any. They may add some little things, but to be honest, I don't think there will be much of a change.

People said the same about Liberty City and Los Santos, and look what they've done.

GTA5's world is going to be much bigger than San Andreas, so why not.

Also, why hold a game released in 2002 (with limited technology back then) as the holy grail standard of all Miami-based GTA games in the future.

I'm just saying that I don't THINK that it will improve "much". There'll be quite a few new additions, most likely, but probably not a lot. I, myself, am all for increasing the map size.

Actually, the "size" of Vice City being small wouldn't necessarily be a problem if there was a ton you could do in the city.

Generally, in GTA games 90% of the buildings are just for decoration. With Vice City being small, perhaps it would be feasible for every building to be accessible and each building having meaningful content in it.

Now, that'd be great.

I didn't care for VC because I didn't grow up in the 80's thus lost the nostalgia factor so many love VC for.

So, no HD VC for me thanks, new city please.

If VC isn't given HD treatment I will go Chuck Norris up in this bitch.

It's nice to see Vice City in a much larger form than ever. I have high hopes for them, they'll make it more resembling to Miami.

We have a few possibilities:

  • Vice City. GTA VI will most likely be set there because VI are the initial letters of Vice.
  • San Fierro. San Fierro is probably the less popular city in the GTA series.
  • Las Venturas.
  • San Fierro + Las Venturas. If it's not set in Vice City, I'm sure it will be SF + LV. Or...
  • San Andreas state. Yes. LS + SF + LV. I think next gen might be able to support that.

I hope they make a complete new city, though if I had to choose from the previous ones...mmm, Vice City or Las Venturas? I think I'd go for Las Venturas, with some surrounding desert; ambientation: the 1970s. Like Joe Pesci in Casino would have said:

''A lot of holes in the desert, and a lot of problems are buried in those holes.''
