Johan
Exclusives on a book could be artwork and behind the scenes action, stuff like that Gonna have to buy one then, I don't need a guide but it'll be something great to look at 20 years from now while in the toilet. FAH-Q
Is 400 pages alot for a strategy guide? What do you think? 400 pages is a lot for anything. Edited June 25, 2013 by CallTheCoroner
wildstyle91
Sweet, I love these big guide books. Some say what's the point of them, but they are enjoyable to read and mean you don't miss out on anything. Its also a nice as a collectable GTAV merchandise. Johan
Is 400 pages alot for a strategy guide? Of course it is, most strategy guides average around 240 pages Only a few games have way more such as Skyrim with 1,110.. Fallout 3 and a few others
DarrenC1888
I've never bought one. Are they worth it?
FAH-Q
I've never bought one. Are they worth it? Well, considering how hard it is to 100% GTA games, these strategy guides help A LOT! So, yes, if you want to 100% V then it is worth it. Hell, the hard cover startegy guide book alone is worth it for collectible purposes.
Cylan
Is 400 pages alot for a strategy guide? Of course it is, most strategy guides average around 240 pages Only a few games have way more such as Skyrim with 1,110.. Fallout 3 and a few others When I read '1,100 pages', I had to look behind me and pull out my Skyrim strategy guide (not the legendary edition) to see how many pages there were. There's only 655 pages, but a lot of that is dedicated to mapping out the individual areas/strategizing. Considering how Skyrim is a roleplaying game where pages can easily be filled with explanations of each skill, race, and information like that, 655 pages seems just right. For GTA, where they mainly just cover missions, side quests, and a few other odds/ends, it just adds to my excitement that they needed 400 pages. It makes me giddy thinking about how the game must be filled to the breaking point with content. Or maybe (unlike RDR), the multiplayer section is a full blown part of the guide, instead of a couple of pages at the end.

Well I was talking about the Collectors Edition guide but either way you're right, it does show just how big this guide is for a game that isn't an RPG
CommonSeb
I don't get this strategy guide thing. Isn't that like watching a movie while reading the script. Takes away all sense of adventure and exploration.
Catwalk
Imo the exciting part isn't the strategy guide itself (though I get why people are excited) it's that this is a really good sign that there won't be another delay.
Above
I don't get this strategy guide thing. Isn't that like watching a movie while reading the script. Takes away all sense of adventure and exploration. It depends on how you use them. I used them to check for info that I had already come across in the game but wanted more info about. However, the truth is that these guides are often full of errors and lacking useful info.
jameznash
the crazy thing is if these are being printed right now there are 1000's of maps just sat there and we cant see them. Many People at the printers will have seen it, people on the printing floor will have seen it. Packers will have seen it. If I worked there I would find it so hard not to just take a book home or even take a photo of the map and put it up on the internet. Hope somebody has the balls to do it before release. Plus when will GAME store get them? If they get them the week before then they will all have a look through as well. We all need to go and befriend some GAME shop staff as soon as possible. epicluca
The one question I have is, what Exclusive Bonus Content could be offered from a book??? - Soundtrack - Making of - Posters/Stickers - Codes for ingame weapons/cars/bonuses - Some sort of short film The fact that there was no "art of GTA V" or soundtrack with the LimEds confused me but now it makes sense. NYC PATROL
Hope they have that version over here in the U.S. (The hardcover). I would like to get it just for collection purposes AND for looking at AFTER I beat the game. I see why some people think It's a waste of money when there is so many free guides online but there is something nice about having a physical copy of loads of neat facts etc. You could almost compare it to seeing a movie, kinda lol. Sure I could watch this movie online OR I could purchase the DVD which has bonus content on it I can't find anywhere else and that I can access anytime I want. Something along those lines haha... harry246
Just pre-ordered the hard cover. I probably won't use it to guide me through missions, but i'll read through it after I have completed the game. As GTA V will have many different ways of completing missions (different escape route's, different ways to ditch vehicle's ect.), it will be interesting to see how it's shown in the guide. EmmitBrown
i'll get the hardcover. i won't even look at it for at least a year or so. i plan to frame both my blueprint maps and have a whole heap of little circle stickers to put places where i collect anything "collectible" in the game so when i go for 100% ill know what i got already. i also like the guides for things like a location of something....not the location of anything secret, but if i went somewhere in the game already but i forget where it was i'll look up where it was. my reason is this: i live there, i have a phone and friends, in real life i would look up where the place is or ask my friends where it is...and i'd find out. Len Lfc
strategy guides ruin the fun. But hell of a read when you're taking a crap. Seriously. I have the guides for San Andreas & GTA IV, I only used them once I beat the game, & only for hidden items & stunt jumps etc. I love a good read like that though when in the bathroom.
