Revolvers

As long as the M1911's in the game (and it's actually GOOD, not like a weak start out weapon), I'm fine with anything. They did say that they had a lot of weapons in the game (and the minigun's confirmed, so a revolver is kind of a certainty).

Oh sh*t that bothers the hell out of me. When a 1911 (chambered in 45 acp) does less damage than a 9mm -_- Seriously?

Although I do like the concept of the Judge being able to fire shotgun shells, it's pretty damn ugly tounge.gif

I like it better ugly though. It's not pretty or decorative, it doesn't have seductive curves.

It's a bloody revolver that shoots shotgun shells. Get on your knees, give me your wallet, shut the **** up.

(not directed at anyone, just saying it's damn intimidating)

I wish they'd copy and paste guns from RDR into V. I wouldn't even care if people called them lazy, just adding that much more guns on top of whatever else is new would be awesome. The volcanic and Le Mat were my favorite by far.

I'm guessing we'll see lots of guns that were in Max Payne 3 in GTAV. Hopefully the Python will return as the .44 was amazing in MP3

I want to second the Clone RDR Guns idea.

Maybe a store out in the sticks that sells vintage weapons. Or they can be found on

some of the destitute crank heads near the Alamo Sea. Perhaps you could rob a museum and

get them that way.

I just want to do some surprise duels with Trevor or run around with that Evans/Henry Repeater plugging people.

It would also be nice to see the holsters of RDR/MP3 make a return, either optional or just on certain weapons.

Perhaps holster/sling as an upgrade to allow you to get the weapon out faster. I need them shoulder holsters to

play Max Payne in GTAV

I want a badass revolver to appear, but more importantly I want the shooting pose from VC to return...

The revolver was supposed to be in IV, but it was scrapped very early in development. I bet we will get one this time around. I want the game to have at least 2: a snub nosed .357, similar to a Ruger LCR, and a .45LC/.410, like the Taurus Judge.

I believe the only revolver in GTA history was the 44. in Vice City. I think revolvers should serve a niche in GTA as a powerful, but slow gun. Sort of like a mini shotgun, in the sense it's slow but powerful. A normal handgun in GTA (Glock) shoots a 9mm as it would seem. A 357. or 44. would blow that away! (Literally lol.gif )

The Colt Python in VC was a .357 mag., not a .44 Mag.

Ah, yes I realized after the post and I was too lazy too change.

I'll do research before I post next time.

The reason I thought it was a 44. was because of the recoil being so heavy.

I like the idea with the Judge and .460, as we own one of each, I want the .45ACP to do realistic damage and have realistic stopping power, and I want a S&W .500 Magnum. They are so fun to shoot, we also own one of these. The .454 Casull would also be nice, also own one of these biggrin.gif. I want the Judge to have the home defense rounds as an ammo choice. Who wouldn't want to be able to fire 3 ceramic slugs and 3 buckshot into a target? What I want more than anything is realistic damage models to the different calipers and even different weapons. A 7.62x39mm round should go through and through pretty well, while a 5.56x45mm round should twist and tumble and mangle like it was designed to do. A .45ACP, my favorite, should leave a gaping hole where it transferred its memetic energy to the target as stopping power thus, dropping the target quickly and efficiently.

Yeah, R* sorta screwed that up a bit, the .357 mag doesn't have that much recoil, and in reality, the .44 mag doesn't either. The recoil on the Python was more akin to the S&W .500 magnum with a 3" barrel. It'll knock you back a couple feet. It's a nice little revolver. Nothing says "screw you" like firing a rifle cartridge out of a handgun at a target. And taking it like a man. Lol

Revolvers are stupid and slow. If we have any, must be like this \SW-460-XVR-Magnum\ otherwise are pointless!

"Everything has to be fast and action-packed!"

Edit: Mistake

I do think there will be some Revolvers in V based on knowing that V will have the largest amount of weapons than any of R*s past games.

There was one in SA too, it was powerful, depending on the level.

No revolver in SA. There was a Desert Eagle. No Revolver though.

Glad to see people agree that revolvers need to make a return biggrin.gif I think that there should be at least two, one bigger one (44 mag) and a smaller concealed one (38. special)

This is the Ruger LCR which is a smaller revolver that chambers a 38. round

user posted image

And this is the Smith and Wesson model 29 which is chambered in 44. magnum (I picked model 29 because of the wood grips)

I think something like this could work very well in GTA.

i wouldnt try to kill a dog with the snub nosed 38, however the bottom gun is the gun used by clint eastwood from the dirty harry movies. i dont know why this wouldnt be in the game.

Don't under estimate .357 or .38 in a snub nose, they kick pretty good. .38 isn't a bad round when it comes to firepower. Rounds like .500 and .44 aren't very practical when it comes to carrying

but this is GTA so who cares happy.gif

Yes, there should be at least two, IMO they should be:

A .357 snub nose, the 7 shot Taurus 617:

And a .44 full size, the S&W 629:

The one in Vice City was actually a .357

I'd like to see one in V, or perhaps even more than one.

I personally never found Taurus a great firearm maker; when it comes to revolvers I go S&W or Ruger. Then again I've got to remember this is GTA there are no brands. tounge.gif

I do prefer blued or black over a stainless steel revolver, though.

i own more guns than you do t shirts. the .38 is underpowered, that why no one uses them anymore. not only is the round already underpowered, but the short barrel of the snub nose takes hundreds of feet per second off the advertised velocity of your ammo as well as hundreds of ft/lbs of muzzle energy from a round that only had a few hundred or less to begin with.

38 snub nose ballistics

the .38 ammo they used in that example produced 32 ft/lbs of muzzle energy... for comparison you need at least 500ft/lbs of muzzle energy from your gun/ammo combination to handgun hunt deer in illinois. thats less than one tenth of the legal muzzle energy. another eye opening comparison is the fact that most .22lr loads produce 100 to 200ft/lbs of muzzle energy. the .38 is greatly underpowered as a defensive cartridge. that isnt opinion, its fact.

the 500 s&w and the 44 remington magnum are very practical especially when youre in bear country. most .44mag loads produce anywhere from 1000 to 1500ft/lbs of muzzle energy and to be totally honest the 500 dwarfs the 44 with the 500 producing anywhere from 2500 to 3000ft/lbs of muzzle energy. police vests will not stop either one of these rounds due to the velocity and weight of the round. they are very useful tools used in the right context. you dont see deer hunters hunting with 9mm or 40s&w or 45acp because they simply do not compare with rounds like the 44magnum, 454 casull, 460 xvr, 500s&w and you definitely dont see anyone hunting with a 38!lol there is a reason police moved away from the 38 a long time ago... its sh*t for stopping someone quickly, barring a headshot which is very difficult to do when you are shooting at someone whos shooting back.
