iHaveAGTAddiction
Which preference will you play? Hard-Lock, Soft-Lock, or Free-Aim? Single Player & Multiplayer... Also, thought I'd say that I've been tempted to make an account here for quite sometime and I decided to do it today. So, much respect goes out to all you guys and gals. \m/
Nemesis2252
was GTA 4 considered soft lock or hard lock? id like to use that system where if you pulled the trigger lightly, it would be free-aim, but full pull was auto-lock. im terrible at shooting but sometimes I like to use freeaim just for fun

Flight180Victm
I'd probably either use soft lock or free aim. If it's anything like Max Payne 3, then i'll go for free aim. I feel like the free aim was done very well in that game. As for hard lock or soft lock, they better improve it from GTA 4. I hated when i would try to aim at who was shooting at me and it would lock on to some random yahoo walking by, who was to stupid to get away from there in the first place. aaronimpact
Going by some of the previews stating you will be able to shoot from the hip etc. GTA V is going to be a lot more free aim friendly compared to GTA IV. Free aim in Red Dead Redemption was almost perfect.

twistedweather
on GTAiv and EfLC I use free aim mainly but occasionally I encounter a problem with a mission ...proves to be difficult for me then I switch the aim assist ON usually the "problem" is too many enemies at once prefer to use free aim, its jus more of a challenge I agree with aaronimpact and would like something like RDR. also mentioned was Locking on to random pedestrians or the wrong enemy which definitely was a real pain in the buttocks! Gigabomber
Following RDR and, especially, Max Payne 3, I pretty much have to go free aim.

DetectDefective
Damn, this could have been a poll. Honestly? Soft-lock aim and free aim, I'll probably go between the two. Hard-lock aim is too restrictive for my tastes.
Diesleman
Free aim. Auto-aim is just absurdly easy This though I don't mind playing multiplayer on either because we are all on the same playing field. If I'm having real difficulties with something Ill switch on auto aim for that section, but that's a rarity.
SlappyPwnsAss
Auto-aim. When i play GTA i'm not necessarily trying to prove anything since i suck at aiming in a console.

Mig10
free aiming just works with a mouse on the pc for me Well if that's not possible, both console work okay with a keyboard and mouse, I think no one could argue that shooting with the mouse is much more satisfying than with the pad and it actually makes the game much easier. GTA San Andreas was so easy on pc but I must say tricky with the pad especially in that bike mission where you shoots guy's from behind, right at the end of the chapter when the chopper destroys the gigantic sexually appealing billboard. UncleVlad
It's gonna be really tough to use free aim when shooting at the police. In missions free aim will be my choice of aiming. It definitely gonna be challenging.
Backfire6
Always auto aim. I like to KEEP my ammo thank you. With manual aim I am missing every 100 rounds, I go through ammo within seconds. Like in Saints row 3 I run out of ammo within 60 seconds because I rarely hit anyone. So I need to be like next to a friendly fire place just to get ammo during a shootout or I end up empty. If I am going to have manual aim I might as well be using my fists during a huge shootout....yep....use your fists in a gun fight...ya ya thats Legit
SE4NNNN
As long as the aiming is smooth and the frame rate is decent, it's free aim for me in every form of the game. Soft/Hard lock in any kind of "competitive" mutliplayer is stupid.

CapitanCarrot
Free aim just as I had it in IV and RDR. I don't mind missing 9 out of 10 shots. Actually I just think the chaotic gunfights make the game much more fun than if I could just soft lock and pop the baddies one after another. And I love watching my stray bullets destroy the scenery. Redwood Cigarettes
Single Player: Soft Lock. probably Multiplayer: Free Aim. p.s. lets not start flaming wars about 'using 'this' lock makes you a noob', just enjoy playing the game your way! Grand Theft Savage
was GTA 4 considered soft lock or hard lock? id like to use that system where if you pulled the trigger lightly, it would be free-aim, but full pull was auto-lock. im terrible at shooting but sometimes I like to use freeaim just for fun GTA IV was actually hard lock. Hard lock is the aiming system from Max Payne 3. It's the same thing as Casual Aim from Red Dead Redemption if I'm not mistaken. And I also liked GTA IV's aiming, where you pull the trigger lightly and enter free aim. It was very useful and fun. Anyway, I'm auto-aim all the way. redx165
free aim of course, hard lock and soft lock is for noobs You mean people who like to have fun? It seems like most complain that there is not enough people on hardcore/ free aim lobbies. But anyways I will use the Red Dead Redemption regular way.
