gtaman533 Posted June 24, 2013 Share Posted June 24, 2013 Today I was driving from work to the on ramp to 95 South and this guy was riding my ass so I stepped on my brake briefly and reached out of my window with the big number one finger to him, about 15 minutes later I am leaving the bank and he was right in front of me and he glanced over and started yelling to me about how I was a prick I just smirked and he got out of his car came over to mine and said "you really think that was funny!?" He then grabbed my arm and threatened me. Right in front of an off duty cop that I knew. I can just see something like this happening in the game and its just crazy that I experienced that today and it instantly made me think of GTA V lmao. WHat reactions do you think we'll get? I guess he saw it in the rearview so he pulled in the lane next to me and matched my speed (we were doing about 90-95). he had his window rolled down and was yelling sh*t at me. there was a car ahead of him so he had to switch lanes and then come back, he yelled a bit more, then threw some sort of fruit at my car that splattered over the passenger side window, then he sped off. as for in-game. most likely all they will do is try to fight you.... or if theyre bla.... This guy in a huge truck in front of us kept suddenly stopping and he almost made us hit him a couple of times. My mom blown the horn at him and flipped him off and he stopped to the side of the road and got out. My mom jumped out of the car and was like "f*ckING DO SOMETHING" and started walking towards him and he jumped in his truck and took off. Now that I think about it, it's hilarious, but at the time... I almost sh*t myself lol Anyway, I think that R* said we would get different reactions to different people whom we flicked off. So if you do it to a girl, she might hit us with her purse, if you do it to a guy, he might try to beat the sh*t out, and if you do it to some guy in Trevor's neighborhood, you might get shot/stabbed. The poor guy locked his doors and all he could do was sit there shaking, watching my 6ft 4 tall dad beat the sh*t out of his car. It was quite shocking. Mean civilians: Will get mad and want to fight, shoot you if they have a gun (gangbanger) Cops: Will shoot on site or try I make an arrest, either instant 1 or 2 star wanted level. Xayias Posted June 25, 2013 Share Posted June 25, 2013 I was younger (About 7) I think and this guy almost ran into us but as my mom was pulling into the bank, he thinking I flipped him off parked right beside us, got out of his car and was banging on my window yelling at me. My mom told him that I was only 7 years old and told him she was going to call the cops. He just got back in his car and drove off. Don't over hype it Nah, I think it will raise police attention in the area, but no wanted stars, similar to how walking into a cop in IV didn't initially give you a star, but simply a reprimand from the officer you ran into. The game takes place in America (although a fictional area of it) and giving the finger is fully legal. It is protected under the first amendment, as it is freedom of expression. If you want to walk up to a cop one day, flip them off, then keep walking, you can. Although, a dumb cop wanting to get a bust may try to get a rise out of you and get you on disorderly conduct Not meaning to give a lesson on Constitutional law (especially because I don't know all of it), but I don't think flipping them off will give you a star. Some peds may get scared, some may stop, curse at you, then continue on, some may try to fight, and if you do it to a gang member, I bet you may be in for a firefight I hope this feature isn't cut, as small features have been cut from every GTA game. This one better not be. Story time!!! A month or so ago, I was going the posted speed (no hatin ) along with an SUV in the lane to my right. Some asshole in a Malibu was in a big f*cking hurry, and pulled up and rode my ass for a good couple miles, honking at me occasionally. I accidentally sped up a little bit, and before I realized it, I was ahead of the SUV, and just as I let off the gas to close the gap back up, the Malibu floored it and squeezed between us. I shot him the finger out my passenger window ass he sped past... which made him hit the brakes (to which I turned ghost white and my blood went cold for a moment). He waited until I looked at him, and shot back at me "That was real pretty" before taking back off. Of course, the street he was turning onto was only another half block ahead of us, so in the end he made up no time whatsoever, and just got himself pissed off, and almost paid for my rear bumper. Big_Mitch_Baker Posted June 25, 2013 Share Posted June 25, 2013 The moral is: Don't flip people off if you don't got the cojones to get into a fist fight lol I think giving people the finger in V will net a result similar to the "no/represent GS" option in San Andreas (if you pressed it while ballas/vagos were hassling you they'd immediately attack. If you're just walking around as you do it then maybe they'll just shout at you and keep walking. If you're in a car and do it to someone else driving then they could get out the car and try fight you. If you're driving then the other driver could try smashing into you. Different people will have different reactions. Little old people will do nothing. Celebrities will threaten to sue you then run away if you go up to them. IV had a real disconnect with you not being able to interact in any way with peds other than attacking them. Don't know if it's been mentioned before but I really wish they would also let us grab people and maybe drag them or chuck them off buildings/bridges etc. Sure to add an extra level of hilarity. Sometimes I'd pull a gun and laugh as they ran away (although I hope they don't abandon their car in V). I would so shoot the tires of anyone who cut me up or if I'm playing tlad, out two sawnoff rounds through their window The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.
