omer19992010
EA owns Rockstar NEVER If EA ever owns Rockstar it's the End of GTA. OT:Mafia 2 wasn't bad like people said. I liked it. It would've been awesome if they were helping Rockstar a bit with developing GTA 5.

Racecarlock
If mafia II did get one thing right, it was the surrounding environment with realistic pedestrian behavior. I hope they were only brought in (if they were) to work on that, though. If I have to clean toilets because it serves the story in GTA V, someone will die. Wow, you actually said something nice about Mafia II ? That's very surprising ! Well hey, they got that part of the game very right. So right, in fact, that it's disappointing how little there is to do in it. I feel like I'm there, but I can barely do anything while there. It's like being in time out, almost. Except with random mayhem always being possible. I almost feel like this environment was waste. Like it could have been there for a much better game. A game with more stuff to do. A game that wasn't linear. Mafia II's DLC does take out the linearity and let you free roam. But there's still nothing to do besides missions. You can customize cars and clothes and get drunk and get stuff to eat and wash and fuel up you car. And do missions and mayhem. But that's all mafia II has to offer, even in the DLC. And it's such a damn shame, because the environment is so good. It's fantastic. It's one of the best I've seen in games. And it was completely wasted. meson1
2K tells GameSpot no plans announced yet for future Mafia game, debunks rumor that 2K Czech is assisting Rockstar with Grand Theft Auto V. http://www.gamespot.com/news/mafia-iii-ent...-report-6364783 "[uPDATE] A 2K Games representative told GameSpot, "Rockstar Games and 2K Czech are not working on any projects together. We haven't announced any plans regarding a future Mafia release." This. This is more or less what I was going to post. Thank you. It saves me the bother of digging out the links. Yes, when this news story broke (what was it? last year sometime), it was only a matter of a day or two before 2K actually came out and issued a denial. Given that this is THE definitive answer, this thread should end here and now. It probably won't, but it should.
A Nickname For All
Hope they learn something from V when they get to make Mafia III.

Magic_Al
2K and Rockstar are wholly owned labels of Take-Two Interactive. When you get down to it there is just one company, although Christoph Hartmann has his turf and Sam Houser has his turf.
Fisha695
Since when has 2K helped out Rockstar? You can be certain that the in-house Take-Two QA testing & multiplayer testing for GTA V (as well as IV and likely other games) includes people from a good chunk of the Take-Two owned studios (especially the online testing).
