Distrom Posted June 24, 2013 Share Posted June 24, 2013 They tweaked the textures, that trailer is from a build from almost 2 years ago, you can also see that Trailer 2 and The three new trailers are different. They tweaked the graphics because the more the development advances, the more things they add, they have to reduce textures to optimize the game better. Druffmaul Posted June 24, 2013 Share Posted June 24, 2013 I believe it's the GTA V game engine for consoles as it existed in late 2011, but running on a very high end development workstation which is doing things that no PS3 or 360 could do. This is how pretty much all devs make their trailers and take their screen shots, and it's why they always look at least slightly better than what you see on your TV when you're playing the game yourself. Pretty sure rockstar has a build for the pc which is gonna be hella amazing if it was PC then why isn't there a 1080p version? it's from consoles. pc isn't even announced so i doubt they'd take footage from it. also, the game doesn't have a lead platform. the game is being created separately on each platform. yes, PC will look and perform better, we know. people have preferences. i like my ps3. you like pc. I don't know what the deal with the first trailer is, but it definitely looks better than all subsequent footage of the game. That's a common advertising trick, though. Andreas Posted June 24, 2013 Share Posted June 24, 2013 I don't think that the debut trailer was pre-rendered, however, it was an early build of the game which explains why it does look different than the recent trailers and screenshots. Though, the reason why the second trailer looks a lot different has not only something to do with a different build, but also the fact that the weather was not identical. Almost all scenes in the first trailer are sunny, and the color correction and timecycle (?) are different too, but the weather in more than half of the scenes in the second trailer is rather cloudy. Basically, the graphics changed, because of the different build, the different color correction and perhaps the different timecycle settings. There is more than that, but I presume that are the most important changes. They had to lower the graphics quality so it could run decently on consoles. It still looks amazing, just not quite as nice.
